This is the second time staying in the Hotel for my wife and I. We brought our children for this trip. We stayed in one of the Dynasty Suites with a city view. My expectations for a hotel of this cost are high. I encountered the following issue with Mandarin Oriental. 1st: The floors were dirty. All of the hard wood were very nasty. Feet stick to the floor nasty. Also the rug in the sitting room was stained from wear and tear. I requested with the front desk to have the floors and carpets cleaned while my family and I were out the next day. 2nd: The following day we came back to floors in the same condition. (SEE PHOTO) I would expect more out of a Holiday Inn. 3rd: The pool wait staff service was nonexistent. Forgotten drinks, two times and this is after having to get up and pace the order myself at the bar. This is because they would not come to provide service at the chair. 4th: Dinner at AZUL $48 for Scallops that were so salty we could not eat them. One bright spot the wait staff was excellent at the restaurant. 5th: Simple questions to the concierge were met with a snooty look and one word answers. I know im not asking too much from a hotel that prides itself on service and for the price I damn well received it. Unfortunately I just didnt. Two thumbs down for this experience.

We received a special deal from American Express Platinum who I trust to find fine properties when we are away for short stretches, and did they ever! We had an offer of 3 nights for the price of two and trusted that the five star rating was legit when we decided to take an excursion from the Palm Beach area during our 2 week stay in Florida. The biggest thing about the stay was the the impeccable service from the moment we drove up to the valet. From the Special requests for food not on the menu during the Super Bowl because of our diet restrictions to the special delivery of plate and silverware service with wine opener, to a drilling of a canopy for my wife on their private beach, nothing seemed too big for the staff to jump on with pleasure. The included breakfasts didnt hurt either with an impressive spread to choose from. Turn down service always in place, this hotel truly warrants 5 stars in every way including value.

Situated on the "private" Island of Brickell Key, the hotel features an colourful international selection of guests. Downtown Miami with the Central Business District is close and features a number of good and solid restaurants in walking distance. Our suite was spacious but cozy, with a large sitting area which works wonders on rainy days. The hotel has a pool area and an additional small "beach", both in the south westerly corner of Brickell Key, perfect for catching some sun rays. The food served there was in our time prepared in a food truck near Brickell Park - that might have been because the main restaurant was under renovation, but was perfect for a guilty pleasure of heavenly burgers and fries in the sun. The one thing that makes the MO standing out is the staff: every single staff member is really aiming to make you feel welcome. The attention to the guest is remarkable and I would stay there again in an instant.

Five Stars for a 5 star hotel! We had our daughter Lizs wedding there. It was a destination event with 160 people and we were looking for location and a level of service that was first class. Victoria Chase, the events coordinator and her staff were professional, friendly and completely accommodating. The service and food was at a different level from anything we have experienced. Liz married a Brit, Jamie from London so the guests came from Europe and all over the continent. Everyone was wowed by every aspect of the Mandarins performance. Owning a number of companies, we have over the years put on over 75 conventions averaging 150 up to 600 people in locations around the world. Nothing has compared with what we experienced this past weekend. Hats off to Victoria, Greg Nunoz, Robert Lowe and the entire staff for a memorable event! Thank you!

Look its a beautiful place but given the cost Im disappointed. My wife and I stayed here the weekend of our wedding and loved the room and the views. We didnt love having to convince the staff to let us have a few extra chairs so our wedding party could get ready in our suite, or that they charged us for the breakfast that was ostensibly part of the price for the room. We also ordered room service, which was inedible due to being incredibly salty. We called to let them know, and rather than replace the meal they simply informed us that they would tell the chef. We rented two rooms and had a ton of guests frequenting the bar and restaurant over the weekend. Given that, I dont think accomodating our minor requests was too much to ask. Like I said, beautiful place, but dont expect too much courtesy from the management.

You notice it immediately. This is a hotel where customer service is taken seriously. You see it at the friendly reception at check-in, the good service at the pool and "beach", and room service where they dont just deliver food, but make sure you can enjoy it in the best possible spot. Its not just the service that is fantastic. The hotel location is great, and you can enjoy some sunshine on the "beach" watching the yachts go by, or enjoy the city lights or a view of Biscayne Bay from your spacious and luxurious room. Top class through and through. The only thing that annoyed me was the steep charges for the wifi. In this day and age it should not be necessary.

Alles passt, alles gut, alles schön: Stadtferien vom Feinsten!

Some friends who stayed at the Mandarin in Miami for about a week left me a package with the concierge. Retrieving the package was an ordeal. First they couldnt find it, in spite of the fact that my name was on the package. I had to return a second time. Then they couldnt bring it to the curb and I had to park the car to retrieve it, so "they could see my Drivers license and identify me." Then, again, they couldnt find it. Finally, after about 25 minutes and the General Managers intervention, they finally turned over the package. The clincher: they never asked for my ID. Five star price and two star service.

Truly an incredible stay from the moment we checked in. We extended our stay by a day just to enjoy the hotels amenities (and the Miami weather helped!). We are a family of four - with a five and three year old. Everyone was super friendly. My husband and I felt like we were at an "adult hotel" and yet our children were always greeted and treated like they belonged. A special thanks to the concierge team - Italo, Andrew and Carlos. These guys know what they are doing! Rom the best family beaches to Zoo Miami to Wynwood! And when we extended our stay - it was seamless. no change of rooms - business as usual.
