What an AMAZING time we had! The show was great, the service was great! All of the entertainers were top, numero UNO! The drinks were tasty and STRONG : ) We arrived on time for the first showing and had made reservations for our friends birthday, so excited to experience the show and the "DINNER" for $85 per person, the other option was $20 to sit at the bar. Im not complaining about the $85 because we can afford it. We had a nice table but it was a little tight for my liking. That "included" the dinner and the show. I read the menu prior to arriving and saw the scrumptious appetizers, tapas and mouth watering entree with a fixed menu. The waiter placed the first "cold tapas" plate on the table which consisted of TWO pieces of some kind of cracker, a dab of mayo and what tasted like ham but I think was fish. That one was pretty good. I thought, "Hmm, maybe theyre just bringing a little taster!" THEN they brought out GUACAMOLE! It was SOOOO yummy! It was in a teeny tiny little bowl for an entire table of 10, with about 5 plantain chips. Like really people? So I asked if we could have more and he said yes but that we would have to buy it. Well, NO, that just followed with a TABLESPOON of Quinoa and it only got worse. We all stared at each other wondering when the DINNER would arrive......and then.....IT ARRIVED. Two small bites of a cold piece of steak along with two triangular pieces of red pepper : / I was like, WTF! But they did bring dessert which was ok. Only ok because we were frikkin STARVING and wanted to take an actual bite of something. So people, there is NO DINNER. I definitely recommend eating prior to the show. Bring a filet o fish in your dates handbag and bring some FRIES with that. We are definitely going back. It was so much fun! Our friends had the best time! The dancing, the music was WOW! Just have a little something, something before your arrival and enjoy THE SHOW.

This place is a disaster. I normally dont do bad reviews but I was so disappointed of this place, that I have to do it. To start the place is a rip-off last night was my birthday we made reaervations a week in advanced for the 10:30 show. We got there at 10 pm and they told us that our table was not ready, so we went to the bar and wait, no problem with that until they got us waiting for 1 hour and we were starving. Finally 30 min after our reservation time they gave us a table upstairs, the tables downstairs are more expensive. The price of the show and meal is $85 per person no drinks and no menu. You literally get whatever the cheff want to trow away, for that money we have ademame and chips for appetizer and the portion was ridiculously small and you have to to share it, for entree they brought us a savory steak, rice and more platain chips and once again nazi concentration camp rations, not enough to share or for one person. The show started 30 minutes after we sat, honestly it was ok, the main performer was great but by the time she sang I was already to upset to enjoy it. We got even more upset when we find out that we didnt need to eat there to enjoy the show, that was really the whole point to be there. Considering that we were a birthday party reservation they didnt give us any special treatment, no congratulations or brought the Tucanets to the table, we got nothing, absolutely nothing, they at least could it give us the $20 photo that they take from us. The service was average, the hostess was completely lost and the sever never came to check on us and ask us how was everything. Once again a complete rip-off for $85 a person.

It is advertised $85 dinner and show; reality for two, it will be over $350. Im very sad to write this review. I dined at El Tucan earlier this year and had a great experience: Food was plentiful and high quality, entertainment was excellent, service was good. However we dined here this past weekend and it was TERRIBLE...awful! Heres the scam today. Your $85 does not buy you dinner anymore, it buys you 3-4 bit size "tasters" (not even appetizers), and it tasted like it was days old food. We could not chew the beef and it tasted like it had gone bad. Then you are handed a menu and encouraged to order your meal because what you "get free" is not enough for an actual meal (per the Waitress). The cheapest item on the "menu" for an entree is the fish special...$65! It tasted like a frozen tilapia fillet (regardless of what they said the fish was), it was about 6 oz size. Yes, you read correctly....$65. All items came to the table cold...not warm, but cold...like it was not unthawed properly in the microwave. We ordered one before dinner cocktail, and one glass of wine...ready for this? $18 for the cocktail (which was all ice), and $17 for the small glass of wine. 22% gratuity is automatically added. All but about 2 of the original entertainers are left...the others have obviously quit. And the Master of Ceremonies...not good, no energy whatsoever. The band however, was a good Cuban band. With all the corner-cutting, we are pretty sure this place will not be open in a year. Its a shame, as it started off so good. :(

The mediocre prefix menu is $85 but I am sure that the 200 people that were sitting will pay gladly $95 if they at least turn the air condition on. It is rare indeed to find a place with good food and good show at the same time. EL Tucan has ok food with a show that needs rehearsal, a big invest in wardrobe and a better make up. The idea is good: A cabaret that looks like the 40s that serve food and gives a cabaret show latino style. The execution was terrible and over price for what you get. At the end of the night and after the show is over you can stay and dance eclectic regeton with a DJ that mix a Michael Jackson song after a merengue. Michael Jackson rest in peace you don’t deserve to hear this. After we pay, the server encourage us to give more tip since the tip (20%) that was included in the bill is taken (50%) by the house and not by the servers. In the end we will probably never comeback at least is a free event, a fashion event, but more important, we will never comeback until they put the Air condition ON

NO Air Conditioning!!! Cool concept but it was over 90 degrees inside. I cant see the show through all the sweat gushing from my face. When I asked why it was so hot in here nobody had a single clue. Was the AC broken? Do the French just love it hot inside? I dont know and no one told me but I did see other reviews from months ago where people stated they had no A/C on.. its a pricey place and i wouldve expected some sort of discount or a comped cold soda or anything at all even an answer to why it was as hot as a desert in here. I would call ahead and ask if the air conditioning will be running or not before making reservations. I really wouldve liked to given El Tucan a good review but it was just over the top boiling hot in there to be comfortable for dinner. Miami + No AC =No Buano!
