I visited the Diplomat Golf & Tennis Club this past week for a round of golf with some business associates. Getting here is easy from Miami (where I live) as its not far from I-95 on the Pembroke Rd exit. The resort entrance directs you to the main clubhouse where you can leave your clubs and utilize valet for $8 or self-park on the north side of the tennis courts. I self-parked as its a not a far walk. The clubhouse sports a beautiful interior with a very old-school traditional look to it. The pro-shop, where you can check-in, is straight in towards the rear. The full round was about $57 per person and included access and balls on the driving range and the practice green. The course is pretty well maintained and manicured. There are a couple of greens that need a little tlc, but for the most part they were great. Our putts rolled pretty fast during our midday round. There were a number of tee boxes that needed some extra care as well. Be prepared for quite a bit of water... to which Im unfortunately a magnet. Pace of play during this particular round was pretty slow as we were waiting for a few groups ahead of us. Ive played here before and that isnt the norm. Its golf... it happens. The beverage cart made the rounds 3 times which was enough. And, dont be startled by all the gigantic lizards around the entire course. This is South Florida and we are essentially in what used to be the Everglades. I actually hit one with my 2nd shot from the fairway near one of the water hazards. Of course he deflected my ball right into the drink... because Im a magnet for water. Afterwards we headed to the bar in the clubhouse restaurant for 2 rounds of beverages and to finish our conversations / talk business. Service wast exactly speedy. But the drinks were well made. Overall a great course in southern Broward County. Not far for us Miami-folk either. Definitely a course to add to your list if youre in Miami / Ft Lauderdale and have enough time to sneak in a round.

My wife and I played golf at the Diplomat GC today and we found the course in fair condition. Generally we enjoyed the golf and beautiful scenery. However, the parking, unloading / loading of golf bags is inconvenient at best. There is a very congested entrance way to the bag drop off area in front of the building. We played here last year and it was easy. I just pulled the car up and handed the valet attendant my keys. I originally planned to valet park today but the attendant was quick to inform me that it was necessary to move my car away from the entrance to another temporary parking space; then they would move it to the valet area. So much for valet service. We decided to park our own car in the lower lot. Next, after checking in we found our bags just sitting on the pavement in back by the carts and had to load our own bags on the cart. Staff in the Clubhouse and out on the course were friendly and helpful. Too bad the parking experience was unsatisfactory.

On Saturday March 26, 2016 My daughter Diana was married at the Diplomat Golf and Resort. It was amazing thanks to all the staff that made this wedding spectacular. From the moment we signed the contract with the coordinator Ms. Lauren Ghiciac I knew we chose the perfect venue . Lauren was amazing. Terrific golf course. Awesome greens. Very friendly staff. Always enjoy playing it. I have no qualms with any of that. Make sure to clear your cart of any valuable/s, after you play. God forbid that you should forget and leave ANYTHING of value...it will disappear promptly. Thats my personal experience.

If I could give it no stars I would. Beautiful layout but course is in horrible shape. Only sand on tee boxes. Never had one smooth putt with all the divots spots on greens. We were so disappointed. For $90 you expect better conditions. Would not recommend at all.

The diplomat is a nice place that doesnt look too fancy. Was there for a conference. They seem to be lacking access points for wifi. The staff mentioned that large groups tend to bring extra WAPs. Staff are friendly and the food is pretty good.

I play here 1 or 2x a year, it is always in great shape and it has a lot of challenging holes. A few easy ones thrown in too so that you dont feel defeated. Nice location in Hollywood / Hallandale, just off the Intercoastal.
