This course is a developing diamond! At first glance it appears to be a rough, overrated fancy designer track. The fairways and side slopes need maturing, but once you get your teeth into it, you quickly realize its a masterful test of golf. You MUST pay attention throughout, because the slopes, bunkers and hazards are brilliantly placed. It can be visually intimidating, but also surprisingly satisfying. I have NEVER seen or played greens so large, consistent and well conditioned in my life! I was extremely satisfied to play not only one of the best but also one of the proudest rounds of my life on this course!
I love Keney Park. Its so big, woodsy and filled with wildlife. You can spend a week exploring the park. Its like a state park, but youre still in Hartford. Theres also a pool, some baseball fields if you play little league, cricket fields and a golf course. It does not appear that the golf course management company has any idea what theyre doing, so hopefully they get replaced soon. There are geologically significant sand dunes to boot.
If you knew what this place used to be, you wouldnt even recognize it now. Whoever came up with the idea to bring this course back to life should be commended. Excellent tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Great old school tight track with challenging greens. Tavern on premises has excellent food backed by excellent service. Definitely a hidden gem for now. I would highly recommend this course and I will definitely be back.

Keney Park is historical, and has survived through many cultural changes. Its a beautiful gem. I was born in the 70s and have witness what it took to become what it is today. Im no golf lover, but some of my family and friends enjoy golfing here. I prefer biking through this beautiful forest that is like home to me. I have passed my affection on to my young son who now enjoys biking through here as well.
Big fan of this course. It plays a little short but I dont hit it very long so not a problem. Greens are in great shape and fun to play. Pace can be slow (2.5hrs for 9 on a Monday afternoon) especially when following the weekday leagues but I suppose that can be a problem anywhere. Greens fees are reasonable. Practice area is not bad either. Havent had the food. Definitely recommend.
The most amazing transition in golf course design and maintenance. This course was barely playable four years ago, but a two year shutdown and rebuild has turned it into an interesting and challenging 18 holes. The revamped clubhouse, with a brand new kitchen about to open, is beautiful. If they get a good chef, this may become one of the best eating venues in Connecticut.
Played Keney Park twice this year, so far. Great course, excellent tee boxes, fairways and greens. Enough challenge for any player. The GPS golf carts really make it a nice experience. Love the new club house. The city has spend a lot of resources updating this course the last couple of years and done a good job of involving community groups. They have all done a great job!
Second time my wife and I and I have eaten here. The food is AMAZING (RUN BY DISH Restaurant Group from Hartford)! The GM, Amanda, is truly marvelous, and the inside bar/restaurant is very nice and the patio terraces (huge- 3 of them) are PERFECT for dining al fresco with picturesque views of the 9th and 1st holes. A true gwm.of Hartford/Windsor!!!
Great renovation, greens are immaculate, as are the bunkers with vintage rakes. Fairways are coming in nicely. Not an overly long course but plays longer than the yardage. Greens are huge and undulating, getting close to pins in the correct areas is vital for scoring well. Gem of a course, will definitely back!

This was a surprisingly fun park to play. The area surrounding the park might give some anxiety, but we had no incidents. There was a few spots of dumped trash, tires tvs etc. My group and I had an excellent round, and look forward to returning.
What a joy to play. I havent played Keney since the 60s and decided to play while visiting family. The greens are wonderful. I played the back tees for the challenge and it kicked my butt. Loved it. Great job on the renovation.
Played it at the beginning of the summer and cant wait to go back. Great renovation. So much fun to play. You cant just pull out your driver or aim at the pins. You have to actually think! What a concept.
Its holding up its 2nd year under new management. The opening of the restaurant is a huge plus. Lots of rain the last couple of weeks exposed drainage issues, but has kept the grass growing.
The course is beautiful. The green are tough but have large landing areas. Was not impressed by the service and the constant interruptions of cutting the grass for the entire round.
Course was in great condition for a public course. The renovations to the club house and facilities have definitely brought the course up to that of most private clubs in the area
Nice big open park, but people tend to not park in the parking lots lost of people park close to the play ground. The pool in the summer time is nice , alot of young kids

We need back full access to the park.. Not fair to be providing accommodation for only golfers and not the other set of people who wanna do other cool stuff..

Currently being remodeled but it looks nice and is kept up well. Price for a bucket was a little high but well worth it for the convenient location.
Aesthetic and very clean. Track was challenging and fun. I hope the clubhouse is open now. Best place around
Way way over rated, only thing about the layout was the greens were rolling true.
Classic old style golf course and fantastic restaurant and pro shop.
