Our wedding took place at the Society Room in Hartford on the 17th of February 2012. Where to begin. Our experience with Dana and Shawn started when we were originally picking a venue. While the elegance and beauty of the room speak for itself, the professionalism and flexibility of the staff became quickly apparent during both our initial meetings prior to us booking the venue all the way through the planning process. Being a chronic procrastinator, they helped keep us on target, and gave us feedback and suggestions along the way that helped turn our day from a potential nightmare to the most incredible day of our lives. We participated in the Mock wedding, where the food was delicious, however, it paled in comparison to the food prepared at the night of our wedding. I heard nothing but praise during cocktail hour (vegetarian Nori rolls with Wasabi Aioli was AMAZING) and after entrees. My meal was phenomenal. It was prepared perfectly with a very visually appealing delivery. Even my vegan friends raved about their dishes. The kitchen staff obviously took incredible pride in what they were serving, and it showed. Our Wedding coordinator did an amazing job setting up the room, and using the items we provided, accented with their own stock of ornamental items to make the dining room look like we were hosting a presidential dinner event. The wait staff was courteous, and quick to serve as well as remove clutter, keeping the dining room looking excellent all throughout the night. Our Bridal Suite attendant was amazing, and continuously helped us whenever we needed even the smallest things. Everyone was available and made the night run incredibly smoothly. Our wedding couldn’t have gone better, and a lot of that credit belongs to the Society Room and their incredible staff.

Beautiful venue. The only thing we did not like was the food and service! It was fairly cold and when we asked the server for assistance in warming it up or possibly finding another dish that we could eat she replied to us, " I cant help you at this moment, maybe next time you come you can order what you will actually eat." Mind you we ordered chicken that had a very bitter sauce with a rubbery cheese. The plate was awful. Our entire table was shocked and just stopped talking with her. We did not report it because we did not want to ruin the brides experience but it was definitely not a pleasant staff working that night. Just wanted to mention it so if anyone is looking to plan an event here that it is a beautiful place but make sure your staff is pleasant and not ruining the night with their poor attitudes. I have been in their place before and know it is tough but it is still no reason to act that way with guests.

My cousin had her wedding reception here and it was incredible. Gorgeous décor and excellent food and drinks. The staff was friendly and helpful with anything we needed. One thing that really stood out to me was the serving size of the meals. Some of the venues in this area serve ridiculously huge portions of food and this place kept it to a reasonable amount of food like a normal sized filet mignon not a football sized hunk of beef that if you eat the whole thing you wouldnt be able to move never mind dance. Live this place.

I was here on Saturday, August 27, 2016. The worst service. The manager is outful rude and does not care about customer service at all. And the food was not all that. Plus they dont validate the parking. For the cost and what you get out of it, this place is not worth it at all. The manager got to get herself checked properly or replaced with someone more professional.

Excellent service provided by the staff at The Society Room of Hartford. They were meticulous in their details in the planning and execution of the event. Its a very impressive venue for a wedding reception and received many favorable comments from my guests on the food as well as the facility in general. I highly recommend this as a wedding reception venue.

The people of the Society Room cut down the only little tree in Pratt st because it "got in the way of peoples weddings". I dont know how anyone can have respect for the persons who party there or who make money of it.
