This hotel is the worse hotel I have ever been to all becuase of Krista Kies the Reservation Manager. Krista Kies is such a nasty, mean, rude, disrestpectful, racists person. Upon check in she treated us with no respect and she made our stay very unpleasant. I would never do business with any Marriot becuase of Krista Kies. She tryed to put us in a standard room when we paid for a lodge room, when i ask her about it she tryed to lie through her teeth. When she gave us the new room key she said" Here are you keys and i dont ever want to hear or see you guys again" Clearly she does not know what customer service is about. Marriot are a bunch of theifts that try to rip you off and of course charge you for extra things when you check out. I paid in advance for our rooms and upon check out we still got charge 65.00 that they couldnt even explain when i ask them about it. Can you say (ROBBERS) Krista Kies stereotyped us upon check in,she had the nerve to tell me " The minute you guys walked in you guys came in all hyped". Who in there right mind says that, the one and only racists Krista Kies. My stomach gets upset just mentioning her name. She made our stay very awful. She belittled us and made us feel very un welcome. Shes one nasty person and i will never ever give my money to you guys. You need hire better people that dont make your customers feel like crap. Shes is a racists person and you guys dont need that type of people working there. Shes rude for all the things she told us. Upon check out she didnt even acknowledge us and we didnt even get an apology. The front dest staff are awful aswell, they teach the them to lie to there customers. My husband and I felt that Krista Kies disrespected us 100 percent and we have never felt this way and been treated by some one like this. Krista Kies you are one rude, nasty, liying person. Thank you marriot for making our stay The Worse Stay Ever!!!!

I loved a lot about this hotel except extremely rude front desk person Lisa that was extremely condescending. Down right rude. We love Marriott we are platinum members with a lot of stays in many Marriott properties and many times it is people who make the place. So when you have stuff that makes your stay that much less enjoyable it changes your perspective on how great the positives are. I would have given it a 5*if not for Lisa. Room service was great. Ski valet would have been great if not for the fact that after our first day of skiing staff could not locate our 7 year old daughters snowboard! Finally they did find the snowboard completely dismantled! Bindings were off!!!! Who does that? They had wrong check out date on her snowboard so they took it apart! Why would you do that? They ripped off her special sticker she got from Burton girls which made her sad as she was the only child to ride with Burton girls during the Burton us open the day before. We wasted so much time looking and putting back together hee snowboard we almost missed the finals! Room was nice and cozy. We loved the lounge with live music the waitresses there were fantastic and very personable. Cheers to Danielle. Loved that there was a caricature artist that was not offering drawing of kids or adults so we took advantage of that. Kids loved the smores after skiing. Hut tub was big but when we got there with our kids there were beer bottles and beer cans everywhere. All around the hot tub definitely not a preety site and not safe. No one was coming around to clean it.

The hotel gets 5 stars for décor, but then it goes downhill from there. We checked in at 1PM were told room is not ready. Got a call 30 min later that the room was ready, but oops, it was a mistake. They called the wrong person. At 5PM we were tired of waiting and had spent $70 in drinks and appetizers in the lobby, so my husband checked at the desk. They said our room was ready and they did not know why we were not called. We were then told that we are not in room 590 as was originally put on our documents, we were now in room 130. In route to the room, they gave us a welcome card that gives us a free drink in the lobby. Thanks but we would have appreciated more at 1PM, not 6:00 PM. Fortunately, my husband was smart and picked his and the kids ski gear out of our bags in the lobby and spent part of the day skiing, but my day of reading and relaxing in the room was for not. They temporarily lost our boot bags at one point, and on day two they temporarily lost my skis. I guess because I didnt ski with the rest of the family on day one. The food is excellent and the employees are really nice. But the management of this hotel is really poor. Other people were having a similar problem as us. The lobby lounge was packed. I believe a hotel that accommodates skiers that come in for 2-3 day long weekend trips cannot have problems like this. Their customers cant afford to loose a day of their vacation due to management problems.

Who ever heard of paying for internet in your room these days? I can stay at a holiday inn or a la quinta and get free internet. I thought THIS WAS VAIL ! why am I going to the lobby with EVERY body else to log on for free! $10 bucks a day is ridiculous and ancient behaviour! on principal, never again. rooms too small and very average tv channel selection. COFFEE: how bout getting rid of those ridiculous condiment packets for the coffee. most people only want the creamer and maybe the sugar its really wasteful having all the selections in a little plastic baggy just to get one thing out. Oh and 2 different flavoured tea bags glued to a big card board envelope! why? more ugly packaging and wastage, oh and let me call housekeeping twice a day to have more delivered because you dont issue enough in the first place. hello its 2009, figure it out! oh maybe a complimentary coffee stand in the lobby. like every other descent hotel on the planet.

Beautiful location - thats for sure!!! But unfortunately this is pretty much the only thing this "resort" has going for it. This place is in desperate need for a make over to justify the prices they are charging! No problems with staff , but it took many reminders at times to get something simple as more towels... What bothered me the most is the insane heat in this place ( aka old air/ heat system) - the hallways were sweltering . We slept with an open balcony door at 26 F outside... because you could not cool your room down!!!! This is after a maintenance guy came and changed the filter for us - that did it - NOT!!! With the heat, of course comes a desert like dryness - which made the stay even more miserable. Oh, each room is equipped with a HOT AIR humidifier - that does - NOTHING!!! BTW - we are platinum elite members- so not our first place...

I am a Marriott Platinum, for those that dont know that means you have to stay a minimum of 80 nights per year at Marriott hotels. I am used to experiencing a certain amount of perks because of my status. I called ahead to ask for an upgrade here with a kitchenette. However, upon arrival I was given the original room I reserved and was told no upgrade was available even though I had been told differently on the phone. There was no free breakfast which would be a typical platinum perk. I was also told if I parked my car up the road from the hotel it would be just a five minute walk back (it was actually 15... using the shortcut through the shopping village). There is no self parking at the hotel and Valet is $25 per night. The $35 resort fee per night covers many things that would be free at other Marriott locations.
