This was the first time, and it will be the last time that my family ever goes to Pirates Cove. I am extremely DISAPPOINTED with our experience. The forecast showed no rain for the day, but Colorado loves to surprise us! 30 minutes after arriving at the park, they needed to temporarily close due to inclement weather/lightning. The staff announced that they would be closing, and if they were still closed in 30 minutes due to the weather, that they would be issuing rain checks to families. We waited in the parking lot for ALMOST 2 HOURS!!! They still refused to issue us rain checks, and even HAD TO CALL THE POLICE because they had so many upset people who were demanding answers....issue rain checks or RE-OPEN.They couldnt handle the 30+ people waiting outside the building that they refused to give rain checks to, even 1.5 hours later. We left 2 hours later, without a rain check and without the park re-opening. What a complete waist of time and money. The teenage staff is incredibly rude. When we knocked on the door asking to talk to someone about what we should do they just laughed at us, while continuing to play on their phones. They even went so far as to mimic my gestures and laugh at everyone standing outside in the rain. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT A POORLY RUN FACILITY LIKE THIS!! Families with small children waited hours to try to get a rain check and they were all treated poorly and basically STOLEN from and LIED to. The Bay in Broomfield is a great alternative to this place!!

Im 8 months pregnant and really wanted to go some place where I could still have fun but also be safe. This place was AMAZING! It really brought out the kid in me! The lazy river was a lot of fun with the different water jets and sprays and I loved the whirlpool section you could pull yourself into away from the river. The pirate ship was also a lot of fun and I was so surprised at all the different water rigs, guns, sprays and "toys" to play with! Theres even a huge water bucket that would fill and dump every 10 minutes which was so fun! I recommend facing away from it though bc theres so much water it kind of stings! :P There was also a small toddler area that was like a water pad with more water toys and mist rings to play through as well as a water mushroom fountain. The end of the center holds a regular pool with a neat water slide thats cut in half so you have a little drop into the water. I wasnt able to actually go on it but it looked fun. Also there are 3 slides, one pitch black one, a yellow regular one with some turns and a red wide turn one with an open top. Again I didnt get to ride these but my friends did and they loved them :) PLUS!!! I know this sounds silly but I love how soft the water was... usually you go to a public pool and choke on the strong chlorine smell but here you cant smell it at all and afterwards you dont feel all dry and like you need a rinse asap! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Will definitely be coming back in the future with our little one! :D

Perfect size with lots of areas for all ages. My oldest kids could roam around to areas they liked and I didnt have to worry about him. The youngest and middle child were able to be pretty independent in the lagoon area with my wife and I able to watch them from the pool edge. And we all enjoyed the lazy river multiple times throughout the day. The lifeguards are plentiful and are very keen on the safety in the pool. However, for the most part those monitoring the slides were not very open to simple questions and in general gave short, sparky answers to anyone asking questions. I suppose thats in part to them getting those same questions all day. This wasnt really all that detracting because you spend minimal time around the slide entrances. Lines for the slides werent all that bad. Nothing not expected and MUCH shorter than I thought theyd be. All in all a great day with the family. Low admission prices and clean park. They do offer a military discount as well. Much better alternative than the larger water park in town where you can spend almost and hour getting in and nearly as long in each line. I will definitely be bringing the family back here again.

For the cheap price of only $8.50, its an absolute steal. Well, when a government facility competes with the private industry, it hurts Americas small business. Where else can you invest $6 million or more with tax payers funds and not charge $15.95?! Oh well. Thats the way its going. But its still a lot of fun going here. I do wish the concession stand was sub-contracted out to a professional food service company that takes pride in the quality of food like "all beef" hot dogs. Not the cheap crap all meat made form all parts of the animal. How about a great beef and bean burrito? There are lots of companys right here in the Denver area that will sell them pre-made beef, beans, sauces, etc. All they would have to then is add lettuce and tomatoes for a great meal. And enough of the soda. There are so many great fruit drinks that can be made for slightly higher prices, but much better taste, healthier and MORE FUN for crying out loud. Why dont they check out the Pho restaurants and see the 40 or so fruit drinks??? With and without boba. Gotta be fun in this day and age, got to be more healthier - for the childrens sake.

This is one of the best water parks I have been to. The price for the entire day was cheaper than the fee at most basic public pools. It has a friendly atmosphere and something for everyone to enjoy. It was perfect for the entire family. We took babies, grandma, and every age in between. I usually sit on the sidelines but I spent 2 hours enjoying the lazy river ride. We were able to take a cooler and our own food so everyone had something they could eat with out spending a small fortune. The concession has inexpensive items, water and fountain drinks. Life guards were posted at every turn in the park. I even saw them testing the water periodically for quality control of the pools. I only had one complaint. The changing area was ok but the bathroom, toilets, sinks and floors were not clean. Wear water shoes.

We went last weekend for a field trip for my daughters daycare. She is 3 and was wearing a life vest and wanted to jump off the diving board so me and her father let her(since we were there with her) After letting her jump and swim to the edge they then told us she was not allowed to jump. I asked why and they told us it was the "manufacturer of the diving boards policy" of course my daughter was so excited and wanted to go again and they would not let her. I asked why she is allowed to jump off the side of the pool and they said its their policy and they allow it. So what is the difference in her jumping (with a life vest on and parents there) and her jumping off the side. POOR decision on the facility to make lame excuses and ruin a child day.
