I had no idea there were agave spirits distilled in Golden, (Tequila can only be made in Mexico... so agave spirit it is) until I came across a distillery tour for State 38 on Groupon. You could sense the passion these guys had for their small batch spirits, as they lead the tour group through the companys history, production process, including hand labeling the bottles, and experiments theyve tried. The tour was informative and quirky, that quickly turned entertainment as visitors tasted their agave spirits. I walked away with, several bottles of "The Wise King" Anejo. It has a deep wood flavor as is smoother than any tequila Ive tried.

State 38 takes immense pride in the liquor they distill. We went on the tour by finding a Groupon and were pleasantly surprised to find the best tequila I have ever had. Take a moment to stop in for a spirit. You will not be disappointed!
