I highly recommend Midtown Arts Center if youre looking for a great dinner theater experience. I bought season tickets for the first time over a year ago and have been impressed by the food and the performances, particularly Spamalot, Sweeney Todd, and Miss Saigon. I joined MAC after Les Miserables ran and I have been told by several of my more well-traveled friends that it was the best live version of that play theyve seen. MAC manages to attract a surprising amount of talent into its casts considering that Fort Collins is not a major metropolitan area. Ive yet to see a show I didnt enjoy. I figured that the Sweeney Todd show would generate some complaints - the actor/servers deliberately doled out rude (but funny) service to match the ambiance of the performance. If you didnt take it personally, the salty waiters were actually very enjoyable. I understand that that was an experiment and probably not everybodys cup of tea. And thats fine, but I wouldnt let it reflect poorly on MAC as a whole. Most of the shows are more traditional and every once in a while when they decide to take us audience members out of our comfort zones, thats fun too. As for the sales pitches - not much you can do about that. Converting first timers to season ticket holders is how dinner theaters stay in business and attract a higher caliber of actors. Compared to the 20+ minutes of ads and previews I routinely have to sit through whenever I go to the AMC movie theaters, MACs sales pitches really arent that bad.

First time there, Sunday afternoon for Million Dollar Quartet. Group of 17 of us. The show was excellent, but the food and service...well, I was the very last one of our group served, but I guess someone had to be last, but I was really last, like the others were done eating by the time I got my food. Then, The pork was cold and dry, if it hadnt been for the BBQ sauce one wouldnt have been able to get it down. Next, I had to go find our waitress to ask for my Sunday I ordered for dessert...same thing, all of the others were done by the time I went to look for her, but when I did finally get it, it was warm and half of it was melted, it also came in a bowl, unlike all of the others that I saw that came in a big glass goblet. And it looked like I got half as much. (maybe because half was melted? or the bowel was smaller?) Maybe my service was poor because I was the only single there? And maybe it wasnt Cheyennes fault, but she was or waitress. I think next time Ill just go for the show and not the Food! Ill eat before or after.. Marv

Weve been to several shows at Midtown Arts Center and previously Carousel Dinner Theatre (different venue), but are not season ticket holders (yet). All the shows have been good, some very good. But the last show we saw was White Christmas in December and it was exceptional. The cast leads were very good actors with excellent singing voices; truly the best weve seen and heard in Colorado. And, the support roles were played by leads from Miss Saigon, 39 Steps and others, so the whole cast was just outstanding. The production uses a live orchestra with backing track and the overall sound was great! Dinner is served by the cast, and the service and food was very good. Our waiter is the lead for 39 Steps, so will definitely be going back for that. We went to see it on opening night and it was so good, we came back again with some friends before the show closed. Great night out in Fort Collins and exceptional entertainment value!! Bravo!

I just saw my second show at Midtown Arts Center and am continually impressed with the caliber of theater that Midtown offers. My first experience was Next to Normal which was so emotionally powerful and thoroughly enjoyable. I had the Gorgonzola pasta dish which was delish. I was actually craving that for our recent outing to go see "Avenue Q. I ended up getting a new chicken dish which was SO GOOD. Avenue Q was hysterical and Midtown did a great job preparing me for the type of content in the show. Perfectly inappropriate and right up my alley. Thank you Midtown for bringing quality theater to Fort Collins and northern Colorado!

When Midtown was Carousel, we went to some shows. Now we have season tickets and wouldnt miss any show there. Les Mes was the best version I have ever seen - even my son, who does not like musicals, said he really enjoyed it. Midtown is leaps and bounds ahead of the other dinner theater nearby in both the shows and the talent they have. One of the things that makes it so enjoyable is the small, intimate theater. We also went to Tony and Tinas wedding and had a blast...it was so much fun...not one person walked out (in response to one of the other reviewers). Congratulations, Midtown, for doing such a great job.

Midtown Arts Center does dinner theater right! Im a longtime season ticket holder and have also been a performer at MAC. The shows are excellent, with a variety of newer Broadway hits and golden age classics. The casts are auditioned nationally (NYC) and locally, and the talent is amazing. Recent MAC actors are currently appearing at the DCPA and in national tours. The food is good and the menu theme changes to suit the current show. The management is very hands-on and responsive to customers appreciation or concerns. MAC is great for special occasions, date night, or just for something fun to do!

Sweeney Todd was a miserable experience. The theater was very cramped and very hot. The salad was good but the soup was too spicy and there wasnt enough bread for the table. Since they are serving during the show you cant get refills on drinks or ask for anything. There was no reason to make this show so unbearable. I have been a season ticket holder for 5 years and have no idea what they were trying to accomplish with this format.

Excellent performers, great venue, scrumptious food. A wonderful place for a date night, for any age, take your kids or granny! i hadnt experienced dinner theatre before moving to America from the UK, its so special getting to meet the cast and if you love everything about theater , seeing their costumes and make up close up is so interesting. They are all great singers, dancers actors !

My wife and I have been season ticket holders ever since Spelling Bee. Only one show we didnt care for that entire time. Just got home from Rock of Ages. Awesome Fun. Sweeney Todd was a great and different experience. Weve taken our kids to a few shows and theyve enjoyed it. Dont understand any of the negative reviews. Cast and staff do a great job providing great entertainment.

Food, waitstaff and performance (Shrek) were all good. However, I will never go again. After spending $$ on tickets for me and my fiance were forced to sit through 15 minutes of a sales pitch for buying season tickets. I find this rude and unacceptable. Also they required that you give your phone number to purchase tickets

We have seen multiple shows here and we love love love it here. Wonderful shows and pretty good food. We prefer to sit in the back at the two top tables with the barstools. Its a little more private, offers a good view, and you dont have to turn your chair to see from here!!
