I recently had an extremely unfortunate experience at city park yesterday 04/14/15. My group had the 11:54am tee time and we were running a little behind. As I entered the shop at 11:43am and stated my tee time, I was promptly told that my tee time had been given away and we would not be able to golf. I inquired as to why and they said that we were late for our time. Clearly we were 10 minutes ahead of our time. The entire group was checked in and ready to tee off at 11:50. I was told to go and speak with the starter to see when we would be teeing off. The starters name is Bud and he told us that he had given away our tee time and that we had lost our time. While he said this, we asked who was in the middle of #1 fairway. He told us that the 11:45 time was in the fairway and that the 12:03 tee time was waiting on the tee box. Bud proceeded to argue with us that our time was lost and that he didnt know when we would be able to go play. I asked for a time frame and he said not until 2pm, when his tee sheet was open from 1:00-1:20pm. At this point, tempers were flared and foul language was exchanged between our group and Bud the starter. During this argument the 12:03 tee time was still waiting on the 11:45 tee time to clear the fairway. We told Bud that we thought he was a terrible and rude starter to which he replied, " you are terrible customers." We promptly went to the shop to receive a refund and told the shop attendants about the entire situation. They said sorry that Bud was rude, but offered no other form of correcting this terrible customer service. As they refunded us, I realized that they had lost a tee time, lost $150+ in green fee revenue, another $60-100 in dinks and food. Therefore due to the lack of customer service, the rudeness of the staff and the abrasiveness of the whole situation, the golf course lost roughly $250. My entire group has worked in the golf industry for 5+ years and we have never had a worse overall experience at a golf course. We will not be going back to City Park Golf Course and I do not recommend anyone go there. Note to the Staff at Park City Golf Course: PLEASE IMPROVE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE or let your patrons know that they will be treated poorly at your facility.

I unfortunately had a very negative experience (actually THREE separate incidents in a two hour window) at this course, which is very disappointing because I live a mile away and was planning on being a regular customer but will now have to go elsewhere. My boyfriend set a tee time for 6:30 pm which is the soonest we can get there after work, and was told it was fine if we did an 18. Additionally, we asked if it was ok if I went along to check out the course even though Im injured and cant play and were told that was fine if we rented a cart so thats what we did. Fast forward to the 10th hole and an employee who was practicing told us we couldnt golf that hole because he wanted to practice there. When we explained that we had reserved for 18 he basically implied that we hadnt paid for it and that we were trying to sneak on, then finally conceded but told us to be really quick. On the 12th hole someone came and told us we had to stop even though it was only 8:15 and not dusk yet and was again really rude and dismissive. We agreed to leave and went in to ask for a six hole voucher (which we were told was possible) only for the guy at the desk to refuse us because he claimed we owed money because I had ridden along (he was saying we should have paid an additional 27$...to not golf!). It was such a negative experience all around and a pretty basic course anyway so my advice is stay away if you expect any type of customer service or basic decency at the least.

This is a classic municipal golf course with plenty of local history. The course had served the people of Denver admirably. It will get closed for a while to build in additional capacity to handle storm drainage/overflow. The course is relatively short with some tricky greens that tend to slope back to front, so err shorter on the approach shots. It tends to play long for ladies. Water is limited on this course, but those who fade or those who try to drive #6 may get surprised how much the pond curls in close to the green...stay left. 26th avenue runs on the left side of #1-3 with joggers and bikers even closer than cars, stay right. One thing to note, the driving range is limited, holes 17 &18 abut the narrow range. Also the yellow range balls spill into the fairways of both #17 & 18. So play a non-yellow ball on those holes, otherwise your ball may get camouflaged. Finally golfers that like to play rounds for money like to frequent this course.

Fun course, good atmosphere, great prices. Anyone reading the review by Luke S surely knows that an expected check-in is at least 15 minutes prior- and thats the bare minimum. It sounds like he and his drunk buddies couldnt get themselves together for an outing, and proceeded to berate the tee manager. Dont believe a word of what he said, plan accordingly and youll have a great time.

Golf is my thing. this course is not the best in Denver but certainly not the worst. Good for beginners and some nice no rush practice. The bar is not that bad here, really good service in the bar. I dont drink before I play because I like to keep my game uninhibited, but after a good 9 hole a well rewarded drink here is pretty nice.

Set just east of downtown Denver and the Uptown neighborhoods, City Park is an well-situated golf course in the heart of Denver. Unfortunately, thats where the good news ends. Aside from memorable city views on several holes, the course is straight and repetitive. Conditions wise? Very average muni course conditions.

Course was in aweful shape. Back 9 lined the driving range was a mess of balls everywhere. Guy in the pro shop was pretty rude. Saving grace was cuty in bogeys bar named Michelle that was super nice and poored me a nice stiffy. Bottom line ok course, nice bartender, but prob wont be back.

Why is there a golf course in the middle of an urban area? I like that its a green space, but golf is so single-use and low-density. I have about 10 better ideas of how this space could be better utilized by more people

For a city course, this is actually a pretty good course with great downtown views. Head over after work and see how many holes you can squeeze in before dark at a generous Twilight rate

Not my favorite city course. All ways too crowded, which happens at city courses but the staff here doesnt handle it well. The greens are always hit or miss, never consistent.

3.5 stars: fun course with challenging greens. Some holes are way to close to the road, especially for us less than stellar golfers who have hit a house or two :)

This course is my least favorite among the 3 city courses in town. It is still fun if you are in the neighborhood and want to catch a quick 9.
