VERY DISAPPOINTING! EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED FOR THE WORSE! We went for the holiday lighting, as we thought that the Broadmoor would have enhanced the experience. We were we wrong and actually felt a little embarrassed after taking our out of state family there who were visiting for Thanksgiving. They were so excited to go, as we told them about the beautiful holiday lighted scenes they would see as we drove up to the falls. We mentioned that we could go warm up and get hot chocolate, ice cream, and/or nachos at the main gift shop after seeing the lighted falls and color-changing water fountain. All that has changed. 1) You can no longer drive there. Instead you must WAIT at a designated area for a shuttle to take you to the payment booth and wait in line. Once there, you pay $14 to walk 8/10 of a mile up to the falls, or pay extra $1 to get a "tram" that is not enclosed. Its basically a large/long golf cart. If you purchase the tram, you must walk to a dimly lit area and WAIT another 10-15 minutes for the tram. 2) On the way up, you see a sparse few trees that are lighted with plain white lights. At the top, they have a few more white and/or red lighted trees. There are NO MORE multi-colored unique Holiday scenes to look at on the way up. SO, DISAPPOINTING! 3) At the top, they converted the family-friendly gift/snack shop to an expensive restaurant. Be prepared to pay $35 for a pork chop plate. 4) The best part was seeing the falls lighted at night on the observation deck. No longer do they have the lighted fish pond, or multi-colored changing water fountain that made great family photo ops. 5) Lastly, after WAITING for the tram down, we had to WAIT for the shuttle back to the designated parking area and all of us couldnt get on. Half of us had to wait for the next shuttle. We werent the only ones cold and frustrated. One lady had complained to us that she had to wait for a third shuttle and was quite upset! BOTTOM LINE: It is now ho-hum and unspectacular, and they raised the price! The worst part is the cumbersome ordeal to get there and back while WAITING at night in the cold. To get your moneys worth, go in the day and do the trails and only plan for 30 minutes at night.

Our first visit to Seven Falls was fantastic! I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the entire area is - not just the falls themselves, but even the short hike up to the falls base is gorgeous. The landscaping is immaculate, maintained well, and adds a great deal to the atmosphere. To get to the falls, you have to park some distance away near the Broadmoor Hotel. Then you hop on a free shuttle that takes you to the entrance to the park itself, which is about a 10 minute drive. You purchase tickets and then decide whether to walk to the falls themselves, or take a tram for $2 (we walked, and its a beautiful walk). I couldnt stop taking pictures the entire time on the way to the falls and at the falls themselves. At the falls, you have a choice of walking up 200+ stairs to see all of the falls OR take a mountain elevator that only takes you to a look-out point some distance away from the falls. If you only do the elevator, you will miss out on seeing the falls close up, but you will avoid the very steep stairs. There are TONS of photo opportunities, and the entire area is just lovely. Note that these are gigantic waterfalls anything like Niagara, but they are surrounded by beautiful mountain rock formations and great landscaping. I think it was well worth the trip and we spent about 4-5 hours there (though you can do it much faster if you didnt stop for photos as much as we did). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The price to get in is a bit ridiculous (I mean, its the Broadmoor, so what else do you expect), every bit of merchandise and food is grossly overpriced, it gets really crowded, and the public restrooms around the vicinity have toilets that are perpetually clogged. Besides these downfalls, Seven Falls is a gorgeous place to go for tourists. (I mean, look at those cliffs!) And yes, it is almost exclusively tourists. If you want to blend in with the locals, go somewhere else because this isnt exactly the "real" Colorado experience. Anyways, it is worth checking out at least once. Walking between the cliffs & hiking one of two trails to see more waterfalls is pretty awesome. Bring your nice camera! They offer a free shuttle service to get to the park. I would recommend going here either during the week, or early on the weekend. Hiking scenic trails is less fun when you hear a bunch of screaming children & obnoxious drunken adults. (Oh yeah. Ive heard and seen all of this on a weekend before). Parking also is a lot harder to find with crowds. SUMMARY: make sure you use the restroom before coming here, and despite it being touristy you should check this place out at least once on your visit since it is pretty cool. P.S. If you love those penny machines like I do, a word of wisdom: the penny machine by the ticket booth has MUCH better pennies than the one by the gift shop.

This is a very beautiful sight. The two sets of stairs can be quite daunting not just by the number of stairs but theyre steepness and they are a bit narrow. One set has an elevator but the set that actually leads up to the trails and higher Falls doesnt so be prepared to climb. I am not a fan of heights so it was a bit challenging for me but worth it once I got to the top. We walked a couple of the trails and it was very nice scenery. The trail leading to Inspiration Point is definitely moderate or harder depending on your definition. There is one spot in particular going up with loose gravel that is very narrow and sloped. Its not for the faint of heart. Again, though, the views at the top are definitely worth the trek. There are a couple of cute little gift shops there and there is a very nice restaurant. The food there was great but be warned it is pricey. They were very friendly though and more than happy to fill our water bottles halfway through our visit and before we had even decided to eat at the restaurant. There are plenty of restrooms along the road in. There is a more primitive one at first but if you continue on their are much nicer restroom so keep that in mind.

The place is absolutely gorgeous. Its definitely a great place to visit. But during our visit they decided to run one tram inside the park (which only holds like 12 or 15 people) while the place is crowded. Its about a mile from where you pay to the falls area. It started to rain while waiting for the tram. No shelter or anything for the loading area. I walked up the road to the falls because I knew I was gonna get wet either way. Once we saw everything up near the falls, we wanted to go back down to the front of the park. After waiting for the "one" tram to come back. It parked, and a wave of people attacked the tram like it was the last one on earth. The 2 park guys just let people push othere people out of the way. My sister in law is 8 months pregnant, and no one would make any room for her. My mom was assaulted by some old man, who grabbed her arm, and tried to pull her back. Yelling, "Theres a line!" Yeah, we were in line! We decided to walk back down the hill to the front in the heavy rain. The guy is lucky I didnt see him at the front of then park. We did get reimbursed for the tram cost which was a $1 per person. Yay..... Parks people please get your crap together.
