If you love games of skill and hiking in the woods, than Disc Golf could be the sport for you. This is a open public park space, which also has a local club you may join, SFDGC. The club members help maintain the course beauty, with amazing assistance by our local Masters Professional, Patric Brown. There are always club tournaments on Sundays, called the weekly, where you challenge your best round score against your previously recorded average score. The player who best improves their score most on a given day wins! You may often buy discs, or "plastic", from Patrick or a local member right there in Marx Meadow. Get out and throw!

Great course! 18 holes in the beautiful Golden Gate Park. Free! Well maintained. Cool city views on the edge of the park. Difficulty level is pretty low, this is a left-handed persons or side-arm throwers dream course as most of the pins are to the right of the tee. Average-length holes, nothing in the 500 ft range. A couple of "par 4" holes depending on the pin position. Multiple pin positions for each hole. Last three holes are a little confusing to navigate but locals are very helpful. Moderate tree density, nothing crazy. Really love the course.

Respectable 9 hole par 3 course that is usually in decent condition given the price point. Beautiful backdrop in GG Park with the ocean often visible through the trees. Usually frequented by casual golfers (expect folks in T shirts and sneakers, have even seen some play the course barefoot - this is San Francisco), but have also seen more serious players getting practice in here. Play first thing in the AM or expect to have a slow round.

Great course. Wonderful holes and fun to be in the city. Over run with large groups so play in the morning. Avoid weekend rounds after noon. The course takes 4+ hrs sometimes with groups and idiots playing. Dont worry about the doubles league players they might seem like have a higher level of importance or ownership but they have all been nice once you talk to them. Have a good round

If youre in San Francisco this place is a must play!! Its a shorter, technical course with tight wooded fairways and various elevation changes on the back of the course. Whats most impressive is that youre playing Disc Golf in Downtown San Francisco in the middle of Golden Gate Park. If you love Disc Golf, youll really like this course!!!

I love having a disc golf course in GGP. The course is pretty well maintained and all the holes are marked well. I think they should really all be par 3s, but it doesnt make you feel good to get that extra birdie once in a while. If youre going for the first time, check out the sf disc golf club website for a printable map.

The course is well-maintained and the baskets are moved often for variety. Can be crowded and you will have to keep an eye out for people hiking/biking on the park paths on some holes, but overall I love this course.

Nice 9 hole golf course in the city. Each hole is narrow and lined with trees. Its a walking course with hills and the longest hole is about 196 yards. Great little 9 hole course and I would definitely go back.

For what it is (an inexpensive, par-3 muni course), this is a fantastic place to play. Come out here to work on your irons and have a quick, unpretentious round with some buddies. A great place to learn golf!

Great golf course in the middle of San Francisco. Although it can get very crowded, you have to pay a lot of attention for bikers and people walking around.

Great course for beginners. The course was in good condition (especially for $21) but play was slow, took about 2 and a half hours for nine holes.
