1015 Folsom boast 4 dance floors, several bars, vip lounge spaces and an atm. I have been here twice; once for an art show and the second to see Paul van Dyk. My review is for my experience for the latter. The reasons that I did not like this venue are: - The bar that I went to on the top floor was cash only, not sure if all the bars are cash only since I didnt bother checking them out, and I dont like cash only joints. - When the main dance floor got packed, the place got hot quick. Sweaty bodies everywhere bumping into you, yuck! There was no AC in the building and to compensate for the lack of AC the foggers would turn on for a long period of time, cooling you down quickly but then making the place humid. - No wooden dance floor on the main floor so after dancing for a few hours, my legs started to get sore. Maybe Im spoiled, but I prefer places that has wooden dance floors such as Ruby Skye. - Im sure that this does not happen every night but the sound engineers appeared to have technical issues getting Paul van Dyk set up and ready for his set. They took half an hour of messing with the equipment to get him up and running. Would I come back to 1015 Folsom? More than likely not unless it was for a friends birthday, another art show, or if there was a DJ that I really wanted to see.

1015 could be a hit or miss. The line to enter is always long, but moves at a surprisingly fast pace. Love that theres no dress code but the ventilation sucks and so does the cash only bar. The venue itself is pretty large at 3 floors but more often than not, its packed way over capacity making you feel more like youre in a sardine tin rather than a club. They consistently book good acts and most times the tickets are pretty affordable, but by reading other peoples reviews, its not really worth it if youre trying to watch a special performer. Seeing djs here are okay, but anything else that they try to pass off as a concert, special performance, etc. will probably cost you an arm and a leg for maybe only 20-30 minutes of actual singing/rapping/what have you. Overall, this place isnt bad if youre lucky enough to wind up here on a good (read: uncrowded) day. Fair warning though, I have heard that a lot of peoples things get stolen and/or cars get broken into. My word of advice would be to skip bringing a purse and just hold onto your phone the entire time and also to park somewhere else in SF or even Daly City and just Uber/Lyft in.

Pretty typical club experience. They do have four floors, so on any given night there are multiple acts going, so you can bail on one show and hit up another without ever having to go outside. I was there for a pretty big name, so it was absolutely packed and there were people running into me, but thats pretty typical of going to a rave and doesnt really have much to do with the venue itself. When I went, they even had themed drinks around the headliner of the night, which was a nice touch. They werent ridiculously overpriced, either, which I was pleasantly surprised by, and the bartenders managed to be pretty quick and keep up with the demand and the large crowd. That alone was an impressive feat. The bar is cash only, though. I did read there was an ATM inside, but I didnt look for it, since I came prepared.

I was really excited to see 2 of my favorite DJs - Prefuse 73 & RJD2 on a Friday night. Ive honestly had some good times here in the past, but not this night. They absolutely over sold the show to the point where coat check & bathroom lines were 20+ mins long and it took all your strength to push and pull through the crowd. The music might have been good but I had no idea since my friends and I were so crushed in the back corner that there was no way to possibly get to a good vantage point to listen to it. And forget about dancing, it was mostly just being jammed between sweaty random people. I definitely recommend not ever going here for anything popular. Classic example of party promoter greed trumping quality club experience. Thumbs down!

Coming from New York this place has a similar vibe to Webster Hall. Its a great spot with a fun young crowd and always has some of the top artists in the country coming through for shows. I highly recommend checking out any of the four rooms always packed with live music and adult crowd of young, hip, attractive people. I came here for a Mr Carmack show which is off the chain for Halloween. Make sure if you sign up for the event list so you can know when whos coming through it and make sure to get your tickets early, always sold out. The one thing that I will say is that they need to upgrade their game in the technical department because theres no reason to have as many sound malfunctions as they do.

Went with a group of friends and because of the web site I though it was going to be a nice place, why you put strictly enforce dress code, when theres people inside with jeans, or a guy with a red polo, or lots of girls looking like a hooker, bad experience and the securities think they owe the place they should be train and know they have a job because of people that go there and they treat them bad, they only good thing I can say is the girl at our table give us a really good service, so dont go if you do.t want to be disappointed, this is not an upscale club like the web site said.

One of my favorite venues in the city! Went there for a Passion Pit concert a month back and I had a great time. What I especially like is the space. There are multiple bars and dance floors on each level of the venue (when the whole place is opened up). I heard people complain about the long wait for coat check, but I just hid my jacket underneath the upholstery. I liked how easy it was to get a drink (just have to go to the far end or second floor of the building). The lights were really captivating and the sound was spot on.

Good but not great, especially considering the drink prices. Ive been coming here since the 90s. The place hasnt changed much. I love that there are several rooms with different music and atmosphere in each. I love that the bathrooms were modernized and are generally VERY clean. I love that they take credit cards at the bar for a single drink. Theres very little security here. No pat-downs. It would be very easy for someone to smuggle in a weapon. Given the security situation around the country, this is distressing.

The best place to catch international world class djs. A great sound system, multiple levels and rooms with different genres, several bars making strong cocktails. Prices for drinks can be somewhat pricey, but it is a nightclub, so dont be cheap. I have seen almost every top dj in the world here over the past fifteen years, and have had some of my very best nightlife experiences and events here. Everybody is welcome, dress to impress or keep it cool and casual. The music is what everyones here for. Highly recommended.
