Rose Canyon is easy and convenient to access and hike. Near Genesee there is a walking garden space. Woods available on east side of Genesee north of H.S. To the west is shaded area on the south side trail(s). Trails go up into the community on the south portion of the canyon. The end of Regents Road on the North side has north side trail heads. Also at the end of Regents Road on the South side is parking and a shaded trail down into the canyon over the creek via small pedestrian bridge. As you go southwest in the canyon you will see many different types of foliage and environs. Listen for birds, woodpeckers, finches, mockingbird and owls. You might see red tail hawks hovering above. The end of the trail southwest get dry and dusty while going over a hilly are on the east. Trains pass close on the west side. Under the Highway 52 overpass you can enter into Marian Bear Natural Park, a more shaded area mostly. Lots of work has been done in Rose Canyon Open Space, more is being done! So please be kind to the nature, dont litter, and keep the noise to a minimum. Well all be rewarded by it! Thank you.

This was a wonderful outing. We walked all the way to the top and took many pictures on the mosaic stairs. It was a beautiful day and impressive. We plan to go back to try and find the hidden stairs next time!

I use to live near here and would walk around here when I was bored. The view isnt that great and there isnt a whole lot of shade to offer, but at least its a safe place to walk thats relatively quiet.

I live on the edge. its a nice open space preserve with a nice canopy of Oak and sycamore. The creek was deeply washed by storms so you can see a lot more. Tons of wildlife.

Easy hike without any steep parts or difficult terrain. Not very spectacular views but good enough for a morning walk along the train line and highway

Not a great place but scenic and a bit away from the traffic. The trail is very gravely now, but that may just be because of last winters rains.

These are some of my favorite trails. Theyre quite easy, and seemingly unending. Just watch out for the gay dudes having sex in the bushes.

Pretty good trails in the middle of the city. Varies from narrow walking path to road width and dirt to rockbed.

Great trails for hiking, running or biking and plenty of opportunity to spot diverse wildlife.
