Yes, its a little difficult to find. At the end of a long private road, marked only by a sign with several addresses, off the Silverado Trail, there is this truly fantastic architectural confection. Welcomed by the genial and extremely enthusiastic host, eight or nine lucky people taste a range of petit syrahs and cabs, each one richer than the last. Along with the wine, the host presents a rich history of the place, including real estate intrigues, architectural oddities and just plain funny stories. The mix of Viennese, post-war whimsey, shimmering color and a successful attempt to use not a single straight line and windows and doors of which no two are alike, results in an afternoon of warm memories and a resolve to visit again with more fortunate friends.

Completed in 1998, the building was designed by the famous Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, about 2 years before he passed away. This place is a hidden jewel, both for its art and wine, as well as its seclusion. The winery is by appointment only, so be sure to call ahead of your visit.

Probably the most beautiful and unique architecture of a winery in Napa Valley, designed by the same architect who made the famous nature-inspired cathedral in Barcelona! Its his only work in the US. The wine is quite tasty as well! Must make a reservation.
