Beautiful location and grounds. Food mediocre and expensive. The day we visited, the place was packed, we were seated on the deck at a corner table that was dirty and jammed in. We were next to the flower boxes and there was a large piece of garbage visible that looked suspiciously like a used baby diaper. Service was awful. Our server, while a nice guy, didnt seem to know what he was doing. Ex., we asked for a recommendation for a bottle of rose, an being very specific that we didnt want a sparkling rose. He brings a bottle recommended by the bartender that CLEARLY stated "sparkling" on the label and even had a champagne type of cork with a wire cage on it. He insisted that it wasnt a sparkling wine,even though it stated so on the label. After several minutes of going back and forth, we asked him to take it away. Food quality was average and portion were small. By the way, the price for a small piece of chicken fried steak was $48. The total was over $500 for a meal that was worth, at best, half that amount. My recommendation is to go there for the beautiful setting but sit in the more casual lower area where there are less expensive food options and the seating is better

We stayed at the Calamigos Guest Ranch and Beach Club for a wedding and it was an experience my family will never forget. The locale itself is unbelievably beautiful; an ideal representation of the California landscape. You can spend days just walking around the campus while discovering all the unique things the Calamigos Ranch has to offer. Location aside, the personal were the most friendly staff Ive come into contact with, insisting on making your life as easy as possible (which I loved!). Theyre courteous, kind, and very prompt with all requests we put forward. They always strived to go above and beyond and accomplished that with every interaction. The complimentary breakfast was hot and delicious every morning (and yes, its more than croissants and pastries; theres hot and cold options, all gourmet). Overall, this experience is going to be one of those cherished memories my family will have forever, and I want to thank the Calamigos Guest Ranch for making it as great as it was. I hope this review is enough!

This place has the potential to be a true ranch/resort but lacks the service and resources to run such a distinct compound. The cottages do not have refrigerators,local ice machine or vending machines, It took customer service 40 minutes to bring us ice, the pool was not cleaned for 3 days and we had to wait 20 minutes for a bar tender to be dispatched over for blended drinks. the second day, we waited around for a waiter with no luck and had to find a maid to call a bus boy to take our orders, after putting in our orders, the bus boy came back saying that they were out of coke and blended drinks could not be made since the bartender was off that day..the closest eatery is their so called cafe with food that closely resembles a up market diner than a restaurant that charges you $$$$. I would not go back and spend $360 a night at an establishment that wanted to charge us a $20 service fee for room service, maybe resorting to cottage rentals would lower the expectation here.

I was officiating at a wedding there just tonight. Beautiful venue. Beautiful setting. The wedding started at 6:15pm -- at 6:20 -- A WOOD CHIPPER!! GOING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE CEREMONY!!! About 300 yards away from where this fancy event was going!! "Dearly beloved... GRRRZZZZZZ!! we are gathered here today... GRRRRRRRZZZZZZ!!!! to join this man and this woman.... GRRRRZZZZZZZ!! I will never do another wedding there, and will talk any couple I know out of using their facility. Quite literally, a buzz kill.

This review is for the hotel. I stayed there earlier this year and paid out of the nose for a five star experience and arrived to a semi complete ranch/resort with less than half the amenities advertised and literally Nowhere to get a good meal. The Malibu cafe place has awful food. I received zero compensation or apology or any attempt from management to make up for my experience. The location is amazing, weddings may be great fun, but the hotel/cabin side of it is a big big big let down.

My bride and I were married at Calamigos this past weekend. The setting was beautiful, the perfect place to have the ceremony and the reception. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The highlight though definitely was the setting, lights in the trees, woods surrounding the venue, the waterfall as a backdrop to our ceremony, all of these touches made for a memorable evening for the entire wedding party.

The place is magical and the service is incredible..everyone is warm and caring and the wedding I attended was magical...Calamigos Ranch is an amazing place to get married...If I get married, I would definitely want to get married by one of their waterfalls!!!! It is so so amazing!!!!!!

Calamigos is by far the best venue for anyone looking for not only ambience, but wonderful customer service. From Company Picnics to Weddings. Its hands down the westcoast location for an event! You must visit, take a tour, plan a wedding, or build Team Spirit for your employees.

Very unique venue, as there are many different locations. They have many different types of outdoor ceremony sites to choose from. The M cafe is a great place to eat, and hang out at. Lots of great places to take pictures throughout the location. They even have a ferris wheel.

My second time here. Absolutely love what this resort has to offer. The service and staff are excellent. I could go on and on how Amazing it is here but what fun would that be. YOU must EXPERIENCE it for YOURSELF. You wont be disappointed with this resort and what it offers.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Private and separated cottage rooms; some more equipped than others. Comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom. Great pool and bar. Kind and generous employees. Will definitely be staying here for another weekend getaway.
