This place is a hot zone for families as it has a cute beach area that you can let the kids enjoy with lifeguards. Theres a dock but no cleats to secure your boat. The edge has wood rails so I was able to still secure my boat. You can beach your boat near between the swimming area and life tower. I asked the lifeguard to make sure. Restrooms were dark as theres no sky lights and if a light goes out, well, good luck. Get there early on a hot weekend as parking is tough to get and the paid parking fills up quick. Theres no benches or tables or bbqs so its not the ideal place to do a bbq. We brought cold cut sandwiches and a cooler and still enjoyed this place a ton. One drawback about boating around here is that the whole entire place is 5mph zone and no wake. Theres the stadium area where you water sky or just go fast on your own boat. No JetSky/SeaDoos allowed at the stadium water sky area though. Overall, great family place and we still had a good time.

The playground structures are very different than what I am use to, but it is nice because it seems to expand their methods of climbing and creative play. There are public bathrooms literally right there which is a plus with 2 little girls. The water is a nice view too and its not too busy here so seating is available on the benches. Only sketchy part is that I saw some random men standing around who dont have kids. They may be working in the area on break or something, but I guess that can be any park and you just have to be aware and watch your kids regardless.

Great place to bring your kids for the summer there are lifeguards on duty and unlike other city pools you dont have a one-to-one ratio so if you have more than one child under the age of 7 you can bring everyone and have a great day . Bathrooms are hit-and-miss in regards to cleanliness but at least theyre close by. Theres also some where you can buy food just a few steps from the swings Showers available In N Out is only 1/2 a me away right over the bridge.

As an Australian, this beach is pretty lame/unpleasant to look at, but for CA standards it is pretty good. Zero waves and lots of water-front sand make it great for my two little kids. There is also a large play structure which looked pretty sweet. Place to rinse off before getting back into your car. Grassy area to sit on. Not a whole lot of parking so arriving early was ideal. Parking is metered too.

Fun to take your kids. There are no waves so major plus there. Kids can take floating devices and balls in there. I didnt see anyone say otherwise. Water is really cold but its worth it. If I have to complain about anything, I would have to say that the only downfall is parking. I took a while to find parking the first time I went. Go early ppl because it gets crowded. Other then that its good.

Its a safer place to bring your kids. There is also a playground and restrooms nearby. Restrooms dont have soap though and I am not sure the lights work so you will have to do your business in the dark. Paid parking lot. Machine takes cash and card. There is also street parking. Life guards are present. Its a little dirty though some of the families leave behind trash which sucks.

This place is ok. I would have given it four stars but now you have to pay for parking unless you park on the street. This is not a real beach that is open ocean. Its a small sandy area thats located in a marina. There are no waves so it is good for small children. It gets very crowded on weekends and the parking fills up quickly if youre not there early.

This a nice beach for families with children. There are no waves. You do pay for parking. But if you cant find parking in the parking lot nearby just walk down the street and there is a bigger free parking lot. There is outside shower heads and restrooms. You can always find a spot at the beach to relax and have fun. Enjoy.

This is my favorite beach to go to with toddlers and little kids. Theres no waves and the water is shallow. My kids can play in the water and I dont worry that a big wave is going to knock them over. The playground and grassy area with trees is a plus. My only complain is that theres not enough parking on weekends.

Perfect for kids and families looking for safe water play on a lifeguarded beach. Its part of the marina complex, so no waves and water is clean. Grassy area before the car park provides lovely shade from the sun - but umbrellas are recommended. There is also a nice playground and decent facilities.

This is a really nice beach with an awesome playground if youre able to get here when its empty. Its usually pretty packed in the morning and if you just go over the bridge to Belmont Shore, theres a much nicer beach with better sand and much more space that looks out into the ocean.

Mothers Beach is great for young children. There is a large playground only feet away from the beach. The parking lot is conveniently located in front of the beach and playground. Lifeguards are visible to the public and are alert and aware. Overall, we had a great experience.

Such a great beach for families! Theres always life guards, so families so you feel safe. Theres grassy areas with shade, a park, pretty decent bathrooms and a roped off area of water for the kids. Ive been with family several times and my kids enjoy it every time.

The beach is pretty crowded from time to time but the park(grass area) is empty and there is just a good vibe all around. My son loves the swings and water cause he can crawl around in the water without the waved crashing on him. We have been there 2 days in a row.

Clean park, cheap parking (1 dollar an hour!), free parking after 6pm, public bathrooms during the day, lifeguards, lots of shade, near Marina, upscale area and nice family friendly park and playground, clean upkeep. One of the best city parks Ive been to in N. OC

Park and beach is great! Only thing to complain about was the wind and water a bit cold. Otherwise great. Dont forget to pack lunch and shade. Life guards on duty. Parking is a dollar an hour. Sand has a bit of trash but not terrible!
