We just went to Jambalaya for lunch and I really dont think Well go back. There were 10 of us and most of the food took over an hour (mostly burgers); the final burger came out after and hour and 15 minutes. They brought out wrong food; things we didnt even order. They mis-made some of the burgers. One of us ordered a swiss & mushroom burger & they didnt even have any mushrooms; not only that the burger itself was blackened & inedible. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. It would have been tolerable if the staff had told us they were experiencing delays or were out of some items; but nothing was said. They did discount our bill for 3 burgers that werent quite up to snuff. The place looks a bit run down and in need of a paint job. The mens room stunk of stale urine & needs to be thoroughly cleaned. There are better places in Arcata to eat.

Ate at Jambalaya on August 18th and have to say I"m glad I gave it a try despite the bad reviews. We found the waitress to be both charming and professional. The food was prepared upon order so of course it took a little bit of time to prepare, but the jambalaya was well worth the very short wait. It was fantastic. It was spicy and tasty. Off set by a great pint of Boont made for a great meal. My wife had a French Dip sandwich which she loved as well. We would highly recommend Jambalaya for both food and service.

The bouncers are tweakers. My girlfriend has diabetes and she wasnt feeling well and they stopped serving pizza and she went to another place while me and my friends are inside. She came back and they told us we have to pay a door fee but we were already there previously and we gave them business..and it ended up in a fight because drinks got spilled and then they put their hands on me. I felt bullied in this place and my girlfriend went to the hospital because her blood sugar was too high.

This place tries to come off as high end. I will say that the drinks are the worst Ive had at an Arcata bar, and thats saying a lot. They are really weak and very expensive. I avoid going here because there is a sort of snootyness that I get from the staff. It just seems like they are trying too hard. Not terrible, but I will not spend money there.

Most terrible service me and my party had ever gotten. The server/bartender/host acted as if it was a huge inconvenience that we were there. Only reason its not a 1 star is the guy preparing the food was in great spirits and had made great food. Bottom line: could be a decent place if the manager/owner cared about hiring qualified employees
