Horrible customer service. We arrived around 6:00pm and put our order in for some food. We gladly paid for our meal and three games. What a joke. What started irritating us is that our buddies recieved food in a timely manner. We on the other hand were waiting patiently for our food. Heres the shocker! We ordered before them. An hour goes by and all we had recieved was the drink was an alcoholic beverage from the bar. We ask the kitchen whats taking so long and I stated wheres our order of nachos and chicken tenders. They seemed to acknowledge our order with just that. They respond that our order would be next. We managed to finish all three of our games (two hours!) and still not recieving our meal. Our buddies tried to resist temptation and eat the food they recieved in a timely fashion just to be polite. It turns out our order never left the kitchen!! Our buddies had a cold meal and we managed to finish our three games hungry and it made the experience unpleasent as our first time here! Thank god they were competent enough to give us our money back for the food. Unfortuntely the whole experience was ruined and we had still paid for a game of bowling. We had not eaten since breakfast and were extremely hungry.

Inedible food, terrible service. Outrageously expensive. The positives: the bar serves cold beer. the remodel is nice. Its clean and looks great. The bowling equipment works well. The scoreboards and consoles functioned flawlessly. The cons: very expensive ($60+) for five kids for one game! Second visit, second terrible experience with the food service. The staff in the concession area appear to have no idea how to respond when people order food. Lots of staff milling around, no one at concession stand. Takes five minutes to find someone to take order. It got much worst from there. 20 minutes later....... soda with no syrup, just carbonated water, no napkins, no plates, no service whatever and rotten attitude to top it off. Bad, inedible pizza served with a bad attitude. No thanks. On the plus side, the manager was very apologetic when I complained. This place has potential. Great location, nicely fixed up. Just needs to get staff in gear. Lost revenue, lost potential at the concession stand. Too bad.

Went on a Sunday afternoon with my wife and two small kids. Got a lane right away but it was broken so we had to move. Had to guess how many games we were going to play and pay in advance, I didnt like that but it makes leaving faster. We needed the ball ramp for our 2 year old, the first two ramps I found were broken. All of the balls are chipped up. The hand dryer fan on our lane blows the smell of cigarettes. There was a football game on but there was no one working the bar. There was no one working the concession stand and I checked three times. I saw six different employees, all were dreary and miserable with no desire to provide customer service. I paid $80 for 4 people to play 2 games, couldnt get a water, no soap in the bathroom but we had a good time.

This place is a joke, it used to be my favorite places to play pool with my friends a few years ago, but lately (for months) they have no pool sticks, the place is super dark. Very poor lighting which is hard see what you are doing while playing, uneven pool tables, just to mention a few. I had spoken with the manager several times abut this unpleasant experiences but she keeps on saying that she has no clue when theyre going to address these issues, in other words they just can careless about the place. If you want to go bowling, good luck! They dont play music sometimes because they have special events, and it feels like if you were in the airport, so boring!! I had it with these greedy managers, I go to Hayward, San Francisco or anywhere else.

Coming in at 40 lanes, this place is big. The service is top notch with good food and large selection drinks. It looks a little shady from the outside but once youre inside its a totally different world. They have arcade games, multiple billiard tables, and fairly large bar. Drinks and food are served at your lane which is a nice change from having to listen to loudspeaker informing your food/drinks are ready to be picked up. My only issue is that the computer controlling the pins will randomly wipe out your score. But aside from the technical issues this place was a great spot. You can even hit the beach across the street if you get board of randomly loosing/winning.

Made a reservation for a Saturday in May 2016 for a childs bday party. B-Day boy had to go to the emergency room that afternoon. Asked if I could get a refund...... they said no. Heather Fite in the San Jose main office gave me a credit to use within 6 months, thats nice! Tried to make a reservation at a different AMF bowling alley and someone else at the main office said I could not transfer the credit, explaining that Heather was doing this as a "favor", against company policy. Well guess Im out $250 and will NEVER bowl etc at an AMF establishment.

At alameda amf poor customer service from the manager himself. The screen said it has about 5 turns left in the last frame. "The bowling lane closed down because you were practicing on it." I dont know if the other lane party was practicing on our lane or what, sure was pissed when he said it. Dont forget this; each time a frame was finished you have to go to customer service for help. Then we asked them "does this lane have any problems and they said "no"

This is by far the coolest bowling alley I have ever been to. They have swanky new seats and tables for eating right next to the lanes. The lanes are some of the best around. And they have huge screens all along the front wall so you can keep up with the sports games, kids can watch cartoons, and nobody is bored. It makes it fun for people to come hang out even if they do not like to bowl. This is pretty much the only place I will bowl for now on.

My family had a blast. From walking in, getting food and drinks, the staff there is AMAZING! FRIENDLY and for the most part happy and ready to help. We had no problems, and when something didnt work they got right on it and fixed it. I wish I could remember all the names of staff members who helped make my nephews 4th bday so nice. Thanks again... Signed the lady who bugged everybody, and nobody got angry we thanks you again AMF SOUTH SHORE LANES

STUPID SECURITY GUARDS RUINED IT!! Harassed me and practically followed me to the bathroom because they "thought " I had Alcohol in my purse . They sent a female worker to check my purse inside the bathroom as I was washing my hands and she made me show her my water bottle so she can smell my WATER. Left after my first game and left our second game to waste because the security guards were ruining it. Never going back.

Good bowling facility in Alameda. Ive never had to wait very long. Great for large group as there is many open lanes most of the time. Decent amount of food options, typical fast food, pizza, burger, fries, nacho etc. They do reservation s for special events and even had catering service. Lanes are maintained, good selection of balls. Service is friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking near by.
