Wish I could give this place 0 stars. If youre a fourty-five year old with a fake tan and the gray dyed out of your hair, youll love sitting down to a dinner and mediocre music you dont really care about. If you actually want to enjoy some music and arent boring, this place blows. The floor plan on the website was a lie: there were two rows of tables between the dance floor and the stage. Anyone who wanted to just stand and watch the show has to be twenty feet back from the stage. I went to see the Gin Blossoms - not exactly heavy metal, but a very energetic band - in March 09. They literally had to walk forward through the tables to get to anyone who was actually excited to see them. Having no one up front really dampened the experience, and made it feel more like an opera than a rock concert. To get a seat, you have to order their terrible microwaved food, which starts at $25 for sub-par reheated lasagna. Most of the people there were 40+ suburbanites looking for a dinner-and-incidental-live-music experiences, not a concert. When the Gins started their encore, a bunch of people rushed up in front of the tables, and the jackasses at the tables started complaining that their view was blocked. This place bills itself as a rock club but acts more like an opera house. To add insult to injury, they let two terrible teenie-bands open, one was mostly 17 year olds, the other was all FIFTEEN YEAR OLDS! THEY SUCKED! I happen to know that to open at this place you have to sell fifty tickets; sure enough, the audience was full of these kids grandparents, parents, brothers, and sisters. This place cares much more about selling tickets and bad meals than putting on a decent show. If you want a boring night of bad food and live music no one is excited about, go to the Canyon Club. If you want a good rock concert, go to the House of Blues.

All I can say is that my wife and I will never go to the Canyon Club again at least not for the dinner. After paying for the "right" to the seated area, I had pay more money (including a 2 drink minimum) for an over priced dinner. Although the Canyon Club itself is a nice intimate place to see a band, the staff and dinner arrangement was a total letdown. The seating staff didnt know what was going on. After being told what table our seats were at, there was no one to show us to our seats, just some young lady pointing to the general direction. After finding our seats were taken by someone else, the young lady basically told us to sit anywhere which is what eveyone did anyway. The serving staff was o.k although some seemed lost. The arrangement of the long tables end to end seem ridiculously over crowded. Barely enough space for one person to "squeeze" through the aisles. Im sure that was a fire hazard. After dinner, the band did not start performing until 9 p.m. and ended shortly after 10 p.m. And we come to find out that there was a DJ and dance afterwards. Honestly, after all that money spent I would have expected the band to perform a little longer instead having some stupid DJ afterwards. As my wife said, we waited too long for too short a concert. Having said all that the concert attended was Peter Frampton on Oct. 27th. The performance itself was exciting and filled with energy as his concerts usually are. The only disappointment was that he didnt perform longer as previously mentioned. Again, IF we ever do attend another concert at Canyon Club, it will be for the concert only, no over priced dinner and alcohol.

I have been to the Canyon Club now for a couple different events. One for Rick Springfield a few years ago (my pin up fantasy of the 80s). So of course I had dinner and got as close to the stage as possible. The show rocked!! And Rick walked all over the tables so all the ladies got a chance to close to him! The waiters were bussing as fast as they could so he could do his thing. Awesome! The dinner was average, but if it can get you closer to the stage to see your favorite band if you are the first ones at the club then do you really care? The second time I went for Queensryche in June. I had the best time. Arrived shortly before show time, didnt pay for dinner. I bought drinks at the farthest bar from a really nice bartender who gave excellent service. I think his name is Brian. I will not forget him the next time I go. Didnt have a problem manuevering thru the crowd to get closer and still saw the show only 20 feet back! So cool. The place is so small. For those of you out there who wish to see an old favorite band and close as you probably ever will then this is the place to do it. It doesnt get any more intimate people unless your at a private party as the bands guest. The deal, Save your dollars and get the general admission tickets and buy more drinks! How can you not have fun!? I plan on going to many more shows this summer. I will be there for Great White and Warrant. Thank you Canyon Club!! Keep 80s bands coming! Monica Perkal

I went to the Lisa Lampanelli comedy show tonight at the Canyon club, the tickets were not cheap, $50 for general admission... except they didnt tell you that it was standing room only, and the standing room was clear in the back next to the bar, with 500 other people who also did not know it was standing only... Whoever decided it was a good idea to make 500 people stand 6 rows deep in the back against the wall and bar for 2 hours and charge $50 a person to do it, needs a clue... Lisa was awesome though, if she was not so good, I would have thrown a fit... I have gone to a lot of comedy shows and this one was way overpriced for the venue (not for the comedian she is great), and I know there were a LOT LOT LOT of other ticked off people as well... Definitely will not be back there...

I saw "The Lieutenant Dan Band" here last month and had a good time. It was my first time going to this club and I enjoyed myself. The food was decent, the staff I dealt with was attentive and friendly, my drink was never empty. We got there late and all the tables were full so they made room for us to sit at the bar and eat there, which was fine with me. The food was decent, but I was not expecting anything above average, I dont usually expect 5-star food at a music venue. all in all I went for the show, not the food and not to deal with the staff other than the bartender; I found it a step up from other shows I have been to. Moderate your expectations and you should have a good time.

I highly recommend NOT wasting your time, money and effort going out to this venue. 1s The prices on the menu, not what youll be charged since they add a "service charge" everything is self serve so i dont really understand the "service charge" its really hard to open a can....dont waste your time coming here ever. 2nd Food is cold and not well made, the 1 bar tender is not the nicest person or have any sort of manners. Wouldnt you think on Fat Tuesday Mardi gra nite they would plan a little better. Everything comes in a can and 1 beer cost $17 for 24oz tall can Corona. Whole building has a weird aroma or small just unpleasant to sit in. Dont waste your time.
