What a disappointment today. For $225 per round after tax I expected a whole lot more. Summer time weather conditions with it being nearly 100° yet still charged full spring rates? As a whole, the course is in horrible shape. No notification or condition warnings about seasonal work bring done. Mowers and weedeaters on virtually every hole all day long. Fairways were in ok shape but the rough is all yellowed out. Greens were obviously just aerated and sanded...it was like putting on concrete and not a single shot would hold the green. I know theres a giant tournament held here every February, but you think they could throw some sod down on the plots where there were grandstand posts on 16, 17 or 18? I mean....it has been 3 months. When booking this round it was advertised with a "Four-Caddie" to be included. On the 1st tee, we were told the 4 caddies stopped last week...what the heck did we pay extra for? And at that price, nothing else complimentary included? When I played here a few years ago, we got a couple complimentary water bottles, a sleeve of ProV1s, a bag tag, and a couple granola bars. Today, we got fresh ice in the ice chest and a bag tag. Thats it.... AND we were advised no outside refreshments at check in so whats the point of fresh ice? Gps golf carts slow to an embarrassing crawl if your tee shot strays and you drive outside the fairway to find a ball. Not everyone is a scratch golfer who hits EVERY fairway ya know, not even the PROS. So yeah, a very dissatisfied customer today. It will be along time before I play TPC Scottsdale again.

Looking to play a great game of golf, skip this place!!!! If you like the constant buzz of airplanes, jets and helicopters this place is for you. If you like rude rangers with an attitude, this place is for you. If you like slow greens and fairways that will slow your drive to a crawl, this is the place for you. If you want to pay twice what you should just for the sake of saying, "Oooo, I played a TPC course", this place is for you. I have played courses all over the world, my handicap is 15-17 in general. I play from the whites. We were in a foursome behind a two-some, the two some was faster than we were, duh!!! This rude nasty ranger decided to encourage us to move faster by threatening our position on the golf course due to our being ten minutes off time. There was no one behind us waiting, this jack*ss decided to exercise his authority by telling us we had "two holes to pick up the ten minutes or we would be forced to move forward". No ifs, ands, or buts. We had just payed $172 dollars to listen to the airport next door, we had five players there this Saturday, we had a game scheduled for the Stadium course ( $259. ) on Monday. Guess what? No way were we playing on this overpriced "name" course ever again. We cancelled.

I have never played a TPC course before and TPC Scottsdale did not disappoint. I played Stadium and I was amazed how they keep the course playable while preparing for the WM Open. I was more amazed by how much work and time goes into preparing for it. As for the actual round it was amazing. There was a slight confusion with when I teed off but aside from that the day went great. The course was in immaculate condition and great to play. The challenge I faced was figuring out green speed as the greens on the course didnt really match the practice green. Aside from that the course played very well. I have to say one of the best parts of the experience was our caddie Goose. I have played various courses with fore-caddies before and Goose was by far the most knowledgeable one I have ever had. After a few holes he watched the natural progression of each player and started assisting us with aiming points and how to play the course for our style of play. Never playing the course it was a great help. The course itself is great but Goose and the staff was great. I will definitely play again if I get the opportunity.

I just recently played both courses and I was really impressed with almost every facet of my experience. Good- The Champions Course is fantastic. It has several perfectly placed bunkers that eat up chunks of fairway and force you to hit good tee shots. The greens had just been sanded but it was still a decent surface. The service was outstanding. Everyone was very enthusiastic to provide good service and it showed each time I encountered a staff member at both courses. Not so good- The pace. You will be pushed and hurried. We played in four hours and five minutes. It made it difficult because we were paired with two other guys and everyone was trying to be conscious of etiquette. Consequently, we just played ready golf and gimmes to speed up. I would have preferred to putt out to see what I really shot, but it didnt really diminish the experience. The course is on good shape but there are bare spots and bad lies in spots. Overall- A very good experience but I would not pay in-season prices. Champions is a must play in my opinion.

Visited while they were setting up for the WM Open. Have to admit, it was pretty cool and interesting to see the work that goes into it. As far as the course itself, it was tough for a high capper such as myself, but still enjoyable and fun. Read a lot about it not being worth the money, and Id tend to agree if you had to pay full price, but we got a decent rate when we went, which made it totally worth playing. Staff was great all around, helpful, and polite. Appreciated the opportunity to play the 16th, and although it was an "easy" hole, you really get a feeling for how crazy it must get when the stands are full of fans.

I have played the Champions course on a number of occasions and was very curious to try the Stadium course, primarily because of the FBR. i had to wait until mid-summer to be able to afford the experience but had a great time. The course wasnt in great shape after a recent closure but was very well suited to the mid-handicapper, far more so than I had assumed it would be based on the fact that it is a tour stop. Bottom line is that its a nice, but not terribly distinguished, course that I cant justify playing most of the year because of the cost. For the money, Grayhawk and Troon offer much more.

Summer means lowered rates at this TPC course. The staff was amazing, the sand was pristine, and the greens were without blemish. Though the greens seemed fast, my gut says I was just too used to subpar green surfaces, like many Arizona courses in the summer. An even better deal can be had, if theres interest in 36 holes, for two rounds and a lunch. The 16th hole was the only "disappointment" in the sense that it wasnt what I expected. The grandstands from the Waste Management Open are taken down, and the hole (pictured) is just a regular par 3.

This course is highly over rated. There are many better courses around Scottsdale than the TPC Stadium course for way less money. It is brutally slow. We had 3 groups sitting at a tee box waiting to play at a number of holes. The marshal drove by, seeing this issue, and did nothing about it. There is an arrogance there, because of them hosting the Waste Management Open, that as a golf fan, will watch on TV, but would never go back to play. Dont waste your hard earned money at the TPC.
