We love this area! Its regularly used by hikers, bikers and horseback riders. In our experience everyone shares the trails well. Theres a wide variety of trails. The perimeter trails are paved and flat and you can determine your distance by turning around at any time. Theres also steeper trails that run right up the sides of the ridges for gorgeous views of the areas around. Weve taken our dogs at all times of year and day and adjusted the hikes for the temps - they love it. Check your shoes (or paws) for stickers from time to time and especially before getting back in the car. If you can go a few days after rain you may catch the desert in bloom.

We hiked the Apache Wash Trail, which is generally used by bikers and horseback riders, but we decided to walk it. Its about six and a half miles and is more like a long nature walk than a hike, since there is no real incline. It took us a little over two hours to complete. We did run into a rattlesnake on this trail that was nice enough to rattle before we got too close, so I recommend being very cautious especially since this is the time of year when they like to come out. The trail is beautiful and well kept. I definitely recommend checking it out!

A beautiful local hiking spot with marvelous views. If you go around dusk, you may get to see hot air balloon flights. There are toilets, rather holes in the ground with a seat, but I dont imagine they get cleaned often, so bring hand sanitizer as there are no sinks. Also make sure to bring plenty of water as there are no fountains. Lots of cyclists and runners. Okay for kids- not too steep.

One of my favorite hiking spots in the Greater Phoenix Area. It features a trail system with lots of trails, ranging from ones with very little elevation gains to others that can give one a decent workout. Paths are in good shape and adequate for hiking and cycling. At the time of this writing there is an owls nest with nesting birds on the E trail (off of the AW trail).

This is a wonderful place to visit while in Phoenix if you want to experience the Sonoran desert in all of its glory. There are hiking/mountain biking/horse trails covering a huge expanse of varied terrain. Parking at the Apache Wash trailhead is plentiful. There are bathrooms, but make sure to bring plenty of water as there is no drinkable water available here.

Great hike many different trails to branch off to if you want. Also excellent views of North Scottsdale. Not a super difficult hike just can be long if you do the whole daisy mountain loop.. but good for beginners just make sure you bring lots of water and charge your phone b4 you go its about 2 to 4 hours depending on whether you run or walk.

The trails are great. You have the choice to take a short hour hike or spend the day. Not real busy. But I usually go in the early morning, just when the sun comes up. And Im done before it starts to get to hot. You still work up a sweat. Dogs are welcome.

Great Trail, lots of trail- Northern Area Trail (9) and Southern Area Trail (10) for hike and bike. Ample parking space, but as the local says it gets busy when its summer... toilets and rest area are well maintained but gets cramped sometime..

Great trailhead. Now has restrooms. Great trails and watch for the cholla forest. Two summits to chose from with great views of the north valley corridor. If your lucky you may get buzzed by a hot air balloon or B-17.

Awesome first visit. The trail we selected was easy to moderate. Great place for retired couple to get in an exercise hike. My only wish is that Phoenix parks would fix there web site for we can get access to trail map.

knocking a star off because I think there are better options in the valley. I would recommend Browns Ranch in North Scottsdale. That being said if you are nearby this has some great hiking. I do recommend.

A piece of heaven in the otherwise busy city. Highly recommend going at sunrise or sunset because the views cant be beat from just about any trail. Remember to yield the trail as appropriate and dont litter!

This park is beautiful and serene. We hiked miles and saw all of 4 other people. Once youre a little way down the trail it feels like youre in the middle of the desert. We couldnt see the city at all.

Really gorgeous views! Very quiet. Feels like you are not in the city. Lots of wildflowers and green because of the rain. Well marked trails with lots of options. Restrooms available.

Lots of easy hiking with neat views and destinations. Try to find the open mine shaft and be sure to visit the wild hackberry grove surrounding Tin Can Tank!

Great mix of difficulties here ranging from an almost exclusively flat perimeter walk to a moderately steep but short hike to Dixie Summit.

These trails are awesome. Can be tough if you are a beginner or out of shape. Trailhead has restrooms and cold filtered water.
