Bankster Slayer

I am a club member at Chateau Tumbleweed. The wines are very interesting and do stand apart as unique in Arizona wines. You will see varietals that you likely havent heard of. Joe is always coming up with new ideas in his blends. You will see combinations of whats Comfortable and Familiar paired with something New and Exciting. The photo here is of Kris Pothier. She is one of the owners, all of whom are pouring their lives into this endeavor. Kris designs the wine labels and, yes, she is this crazy. In a good way. :-D

This place is really friendly and fun. And the view is unexpectedly beautiful. I was in Cottonwood for 2 weeks for work and this winery was suggested to me by a local when I was out for dinner one evening. You know its a great place when you go a week later and the local is there too! I enjoyed all the wines I tasted it was hard to pick one to take home. I will definitely visit again! Cottonwood was really a great community to call home for 2 weeks!

Came across this gem in 2015 based on a referral from a tasting room in Jerome for their 2014 Rosé. The rosé and the proprietors were awesome. The Winemaker works with varietals that do well in AZ and does an amazing job producing quality wines that are enjoyable and affordable. With each release theres another pleasant surprise... and my 2015 vintage favorite was their Cimarron Picpoul Blanc.

One of the owners led us through our tasting (after doing a crush all day!). She was friendly and very knowledgable, told us the history of their venture and much of the local wine scene. Their wines were great, good variety, some really lovely whites. She set out all the wines in the flight at once, so we could take our time, compare to the last wine, etc. Great tasting!
