Its not every day that a new brewery or distillery opens in SLC. Its even more rare to see a new cidery pop up. Mtn West is pretty much right next to the Red Rock Brewery on the fringes of Marmalade. Their one and only cider offering (yet) runs about 6 bucks a bottle and has a crisp flavor with very champagne like characteristics. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the grounds are very clean. My biggest piece of feedback is the fact that there isnt much else to Mtn West than what inmetioned above. Id love to see a more robust cidery with larger offerings of drinks to purchase (really, they only offer one cider). Still, its encouraging to see a new business pop up like this locally, and I think Mtn West has a lot to offer SLC in the coming months and years.

What a fantastic experience. I was here with a group and and they went all out for the tour. We were able to task samples at each stage of the process, plus the barrel aged test project. Even if you are not able to tour the place, its a very welcoming tasting room. The cider is near dry. It is a welcome change from the mass produced versions previously available at the State stores. I purchased enough to last until it is available at the State stores. Its something I will look forward to drinking. As the only dedicated cidery and their commitment to using locally sourced apples, they deserve to be supported. The fact that the cider is really excellent is all gravy. We are lucky to have breweries, distilleries, and now an excellent cidery locally.

This is definitely now on my list of "Best Local Secrets in Salt Lake"! I am no connoisseur of ciders (tho this place could probably make one of me), but I believe these folk would be outstanding anywhere, in SLC they are unique. I havent come near to trying all the varieties, apparently all from local apples, but I do know now that cider can be as interesting and varied, complicate and subtle, as wine. I hope these guys are in the neighborhood for 25 years, for starters. Easy to find from I-15 (600 North exit) and US 89 (3rd West). Definitely worth a side trip.

Wow - I love this place! The staff is very friendly and committed to good service. They regularly introduce new options so its a great opportunity to support local business on the way home from work instead of Smiths or the state stores. The cider profiles are diverse and I havent tried one I dont like! You can ask the staff for flavor points and theyll help you compare other brands. Also, the bottles make for great gift bag/basket additions.

I love Mountain West Cider! The staff is always the most kind and knowledgeable. I love the different approach to cider and I sincerely appreciate the different levels of community engagement this company has, including working community outreach into a recipe for one of their ciders. Theres nothing better than knowing you are purchasing a super refreshing cider and donating back into your local economy and volunteer efforts.

What an amazing place!! They have a little tasting room with some sweet Mountain West gear! From the tasting room you can see the brewing tanks/ room. The staff was extremely nice and knew a lot about the current liquor laws. I will definitely be buying their cider when I see it!

Reminds me of my days at Uni in Cambridge, English. Hard cider made from apples grown in Santaquin, UT and sold direct. The first offering is very dry, made with only Champaign yeast and apple juice. More varieties are in the works. Happy is fruit juice with a kick.

Currently they only have one cider available, Ruby, but we loved it! They have a tasting room where theyll pour their cider for free. Looking forward to more of their releases.

Its very very dry. We try and support local vendors as we are one. But for the price and the taste catches you off guard. I guess Im use to Smith & forge.....
