Beware celiacs! I went for lunch at the Sunbird Golf Club Horizon Room with high hopes for finding some gluten free options based on their online menu. On the gluten free menu are chicken tenders and French fries. According to my waiter, the "gluten free" chicken and fries are fried in the same fryer as the non gluten free onion rings, chicken tenders, fish fillets, etc. My hopes of uncontaminated sweet potato fries and an informed staff went up in greasy smoke as yet another restaurant advertised false gluten free food to unsuspecting celiacs. My backup plan consisting of the Asian chicken salad with grilled chicken breast then came out with a suspicious soy sauce looking drizzle on it (not mentioned in the menu). Glutened again! I still give the restaurant two stars for friendly staff who were great with my young kids, and because the food of my gluten eating family was good. I docked three stars for incompetent menu labelling (dangerous for fellow celiacs), really slow service for our table of 5, and mediocre atmosphere. They put a kid channel on one TV, and had the shopping network on another, with top twenty pop hits playing in the background for the room full of senior citizens. It was an odd mix.

Im coming here about once a month for the Arizona Polymer Clay Guild meetings - I see people out golfing or inside playing card games and participating in other activities - makes me want to retire sooner...

I love visiting my grandparents here! Im happy that they have a workout room, pool etc. Because it keeps my grandparents moving and happy.
