I took my little sister here. This is a must see place. Yes it is small. You find out why when you go there or if you know about his life and why he ended up there, then it comes as no surprise. Our guide, Glen (sorry if its with 2 ns!), was amazing, extremely knowledgeable and super chill. I felt like I was getting a tour from a friend of mine from the neighborhood who I read Poe literature with. Its an intimate experience and I was very lucky to have gone on a day when almost no one was there. If you love Poe and learning about how the Bronx was back in the day, like wayyyyy back, then come here! You will not be disappointed. Seperate yourselves from the neighborhood it is in and the reputation it gets. It is not about that, it is about the education. Admission is 5 for general and 3 for students and seniors. Take the D or 4 train to Kingsbridge and walk and you cannot miss it. Theres also a lot to do in the area if you have a lot of time since youd already be up there. P.S. the rat is from the "Pit and the Pendulum"

Went today with my daughter and son. We had a great time. Tour guide was excellent...very friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this gem in the Bronx! If you are planning a day trip to the Bronx Zoo...definitely fit this in....The tour is not long and its a small house! and its literally about a 5 minute ride from the zoo.

The Edgar Allan Poe museum is a small building on a corner, almost blending into the city. They have only a few rooms, but they hold a lot. There is an art room in the second building that I highly recommend. Im never disappointed with the museum, and always offer to volunteer.

As a Poe fan, I very much enjoyed seeing the cottage. The tour guide was a phenomenally friendly person who made my trip enjoyable. As a historian, however there were a couple small details that I knew to be incorrect that were told to us.

Everything. Its really wonderful. A huge experience of humble way of life in The Bronx of 19th century. Thanks to Neil Raley, a very gentle and interesting Poeman at the door of the Cottage.

Amazing to stand in the same rooms that he wrote Annabel Lee, The Bells and Cask of Amontillado and see the actual bed that his poor, young wife Virginia passed away in.

A really nice tour for 6 of my middle school students. Angel H. did a great job explaining details and keeping the kids interested. A very pleasant experience.

A must visit for the Poe buff and if you have little ones the visiters center is a perfect place to do some arts and crafts.

Love Poe so to be in a place he actually lived was amazing. Saw some crows but no ravens.

The museum is tiny but for an original home of Poe,it is very well kept.
