The Readers Digest Version of this Review: Nauticus is billed as: "a spectacular maritime-themed science center featuring hands-on exhibits" The truth: -Not spectaculer by any stretch of the imagination -Most of the hands on exhibits do not even work The detailed review: We visited Nauticus for the first time and were very disappointed. The ticket prices are not cheap, especially in this economy. The condition of the exhibits was poor overall. Most of the interactive exhibits were not functioning properly, if they functioned at all. The only thing you can do on the USS Wisconsin is walk around the deck and you are supposed to be able to see into various portholes to view different rooms. The portholes were so dirty there was no way you could even see through them. Even the bathrooms at Nauticus needed cleaning. The one bright spot in our visit was the Carl Brashear Exhibit - that was GREAT!

I cant believe some of the reviews complaining about the size of the battleship or that another one is way cooler or that it wasnt that cool. This is history moron it wasnt made for comfort it was made to keep our country safe, learn something from it, like those in uniform are to be respected. And if our country had more people like you then we would be speaking Japanese or German or not at all. As for the price? It was <$30 for a tour below deck with a current service member and a couple of vets who served on the ship, and all of the museums activities. Well worth it. Seriously go see this or any WWII exhibit and look at it like your parent(s) taught you to be respectful and thank the men and women who risked their lives so that you can even express your opinion however disrespectful it may be.

Fun fun fun! We have 3 children who loved exploring the ship. They even take your family picture with the ship in the background which I was not expecting. I did however have an experience that I cant explain.... I can only describe it as having my hair pulled. I curled my hair that day, and part of my hair was hanging over my face, and i was looking at someone having a conversation and one of my strands of hair was pulled and went completely straight. I never jumped so much in my life! We did not go on a ghost tour (which I just found out about minutes before posting this review). Nothing to be too afraid of!

This floating museum is one of four Iowa-class battleships, all of which are now retired and surviving as Navy museums. Its amazing to tour and see the engineering and manpower requirements that went into this warhorse. Overnight stays in crew quarters are available for groups (e.g. Cub scouts) but its not cheap at ~$65 per person. This does include breakfast and admission to Nauticus, however. Youll gain so much admiration for our countrys sailors when you spend a night on board, too. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and give great tours.

Wow! This was great! We wanted to take guided tour, but it wasnt available for 3 hours, so we did self-guided. We happened to engage a volunteer (Dan) who offered to give us guided tour of the self guided areas. He had served on this amazing ship during the Korean War for 2 years and was a true delight. We felt so lucky to understand things we would never had known just looking at the same places and items. This was a highlight of 2 weeks of sight seeing. GO!!!!! (Feel free to skip the Nauticus Museum though)

I walked through the first couple decks, (the ones the public could access) as well as walked the deck to see the structure, guns, equipment and look in the windows. It is amazing how much can be packed into a ship. There isnt much space in general and it must be take a bit of getting used to if youre a crew member. This ship has seen its day and the history surrounding it is quite interesting. I highly recommend a visit if youre in the area. Wizard of Where

Super cool ship. Ive been to other battleships (USS North Carolina & Alabama) and the Wisconsin is by far the largest. It also had a 50 yr service life, which allows you to experience a blend of both WWII and Desert Storm era technology. Only downside is that most of the ship is still inaccessible to the public. The areas that are open (living areas, mess halls, radio rooms, gun turret) are cool, but places like the engine rooms and bridge are notably unavailable.

i enjoyed walking the deck of this impressive, and if I say so myself, sexy ship. I loved being able to see where my dad was stationed in the navy and what improvements he had suggested during the updating. I just wish they would bring it back to WWII configuration with full complement of 16, and 6 inch guns, and all the AA armament that was on this ship and other Iowa class battleships during WWII; it would have been much cooler.

Was able to visit and tour the USS Wisconsin at Nauticus while in Norfolk. An amazing piece of history to see and walk upon first hand...you just dont get the true understanding of how amazing these ships are until you see them in person. Highly recommend you stop by and visit. The museum has a ton of interesting naval artifacts to include scale models, videos and polite staff to answer questions if you have any.

Ottima occasione di visitare questo monumento storico. Pensare che abbia partecipato alla seconda guerra mondiale mette i brividi. Davvero consigliato se siete in zona. Il biglietto è sui 16$

We did the smaller tour of Nautilus, naval museum, and the self guided tour of the UUS Wisconsin. A decent value. The self guided Wisconsin tour included the deck, inside a turret, and some of the ships interior. I wish it would have included the control bridge. I would also suggest the ship have more signs describing the rooms and features because most of the time we had no idea what we were looking at.

I have been a few different ship tours and this one is probably my least favorite. The self guided tour is very shallow and unless you want to drop the extra $30 for the guided tour you really wont see much. The museum was very nice and the cost was super reasonable at $16. Just missed the deep down look that I really enjoy. With that being said I would still stop and see again.

An amazing journey into the past. A great tribute to our Navy. Plan on more than the 1.5 hours I read on the Internet. The ship alone took us 2+ hours. We did not read every thing. There are several different areas within the nauticus museum for all ages, from interactive exhibits to movies to informational displays and guided and non guided tours. Wish we went earlier!

Only a couple of decks are open to the public. The main turrets, and bridge are all closed. I was disappointed to say the least. The Missouri at least had the entire bridge open for the public, and had more decks open. I visited the Texas and Alabama, and those are a lot better. But overall the Wisky was ok.
