This charming place serves some of the most unique cocktails made with hard to find rye based whiskey (made on-site). Furthermore the gin is also unique in the fact it is made in the "New American Style". Also hard to find. This is a delightful deviation from traditional gin; which is just vodka and juniper berries. Their gin is made (on-site) with the lowest amount of juniper berries to qualify it as "gin" but with citrus and a slight mint on the pallet. Its quite refreshing. If your not a gin fan try this, it just might change your mind. The "Barrel Rested" gin, is their gin "rested" in used oak barrels that were used to age whisky so it adds vanilla, oak and slight charred flavor to it. This stuff is flat out excellent. There is nothing like it on the market. I highly recommend this place and their spirits. Finally, they share bar space with a craft brewery so if cocktails are not your thing no worries they have the best of both worlds.

Thistle Finch Distillery offers free tours on Saturdays at 3 and 4. They run about half hour and you get samples of their spirits after the tour. I got a chance to try the white rye whiskey, coffee rye, pepper rye, gin, and vodka. They all have this very yeasty taste to it so if youre not a fan of that, you probably wont like it. The most interesting ones were definitely the coffee and the pepper. The coffee has a subtle taste to it. The pepper, you cant really taste the spiciness while drinking it but it will hit you afterwards. My boyfriend and I headed over to their bar afterwards to try some of their concoctions. I would definitely recommend the Martin Mule, which is their variation of a Moscow Mule. One thing I would recommend Thistle Finch improve on is their paying system at the bar. Each time you order a drink, you have to get up, and walk over to their iPad (which is connected to a security stand) in order to pay.

I was only introduced to Thistle Finch 5 months ago though never tried their white rye until just recently. It is by far the smoothest rye whiskey in the clear Ive ever had. I enjoy a good bourbon and a fine scotch. . I have to say this is one or my too favorites, Im a local and really appreciate them coming to town. The Wacker brewery is also in the same building , the bars are in the same room. They do pair nicely. Enjoyed the Scottish tea infused whiskey as well. Just wish they were open later during the weekend.

Yesterday my wife and I decided to visit Thistle Finch for the first time. We started our visit with a tour with Lucas as our guide. He was great, well informed and actually enjoyed his job! After sampling all they had to offer we purchased a bottle to take to go. Before leaving we got two cocktails from the bar and food from Wacker Brewery. The food was good, but the cocktails were just ok. Next time we go I think I would just do beer instead from Wacker. Overall we would visit again.

Situated in a historic tobacco building, theres a great feel while enjoying a cocktail...or a brew from the shared bar area with Wacker Brewing! Be sure to go on the distillery tour too. Learned about the building, where their name comes from, and of course a tasting! We were able to try all their products and they werent shy on the pours either! We ended up sitting in the bar area, playing darts with friends for a few hours. Very fun place, be sure to stop!

The tour is free and lasts about 45 minutes. We learned about the history of the building and the process of distilling liquor, including whiskey, rye and vodka. There is a free tasting session at the end of the tour, which is a pretty rare feature. Highly recommend if youre heading to or through the Lancaster area.

What a great experience... Read the reviews before hitting up this place and wasnt disappointed... The tour guide, Lucas is a riot and had a ton information about the city, building and the whiskey... He suggested an awesome restaurant "horse inn"... What another hidden gem...

Amazing hidden gem! Thistle is in an old cigar factory and has tons of exposed brick and wood beams. It has a playful decorating style which I really enjoyed. The spirits are really good. I would recommend doing a tasting before selecting a cocktail!

Delicious cocktails in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Theres also a brewery on site, as well as food options, so its an easy place to while away an evening. Try the tasting flight of vodka, gin and ryes distilled on site.

I loved the experience here! Service was superb and the tasters were flavorful. They do tours on Saturdays and Sundays. The distillery and brewery are separate entities in the same building

Charming. Nice atmosphere. Great drink combos. Definitely outside the norm, like black pepper infused rye whiskey. All from their distillery. Try ambrosia made with their vodka. Amazing.

Great place to spend a low key Sunday afternoon. Just be aware that there is only one tour on Sunday and menu maybe limited. Wacker Brewing is in the same location.

Excellent beer in a rustic setting. Its small, but they usually have great live music. Not a large food selection, but the great brews makes up for it!

Decent distillery, locals seem to treat it like a bar. Expected a different experience when I brought my wife here, but it was alright.
