My daughter has had wonderful experience with PAA so far. She started with their violin beginning(group, with Miss Claire Allen) lesson two years ago and had fun. After that, we decided to continue her violin experience by taking private lessons with Miss Claire Allen. Claire is a dedicated teacher. She may not be the most humorous music teacher, but is very committed and takes her teaching seriously. She will think of various ways to help her students practice. She emphasizes the importance of technique. Based on my own music learning experience, I feel Miss Claire has built a solid music/violin foundation for my daughter. One thing I like about PAA is their final recital every semester. Students of various forms of art and music get to perform together. It is a good experience for younger kids, to learn from their peers and older kids. They also get to experience other forms of art and music.

When our son wanted to take violin lessons, we naturally looked around at a variety of programs. As a professor, I wanted a program that used effective teaching strategies and created a positive learning environment. We found that and more at Potomac Arts Academy. From Violin Boot-camp to Summer Acting classes to private lessons, Potomac is an encouraging atmosphere that strives to provide optimum growth opportunities for all students. Just this fall, he participated in two recitals. One for the senior community at Sunrise Assisted Living and the other as part of Potomac’s end of the semester celebration. Beyond performances, the instructors know how to draw the best out of each child as well as build a sense of artistic character. I am especially impressed with the individualized attention and I highly recommend Potomac for all types of performing arts!

I sent my six years old daughter to the summer piano program which was taught by Ms. Lisa. It was a horrible experience to my daughter and us her parents. According to the program description, the students were not expected to have prior music experience; but according to Ms. Lisa (the teacher) , my daughter was in the wrong class. I was disgusted by here comment when she said “…. poor X is in the wrong class”. where X is my daughter’s name. Ms. Lisa was focusing on the kids who had prior music experience and totally neglected my daughter. My assessment of Ms. Lisa’s teaching qualification, is that she doesn’t qualify at all. By hiring an individual with no qualification, I have concluded the program at Potomac Arts Academy’s goal is just collecting money as opposed to providing a quality lesson. I will not recommend this program

Both of my children study at Potomac Arts Academy and we are very happy with the program. My daughter is in her third year of violin and has participated in the Violin Adventures group class as well as Violin Bootcamp over the summer. Her instructor is high energy and puts a lot of time and care into providing high caliber instruction in a way that connects with each student individually. Each year the kids have done a special themed performance in her studio in addition to the recital opportunities Potomac provides each semester. My son studies trombone and has had an equally great experience. His instructor is positive and encouraging while challenging my son to reach for the stars in his playing. Highly recommend!

Both of my son and daughter have been taking classes at Potomac Art Academy for over 3 years. My son started piano lesson when he was 6 and his piano lessons were very patient with him. He always tells me that it is a great experience for him to share his idea of each music piece with his piano teachers as well as to improve his finger skills. My daughter first started her group lesson at Potomac Art Academy when she was 4 years old. She has been with the same violin teacher since then. We are very happy to see that their teachers are very positive, responsible, enthusiastic, patient and creative. They will try everything they can to help kids keep up the passion of learning to play the instruments.

Wonderful! My elementary-school-aged daughter has studied violin at PAA for three years; her teacher is skilled, kind, imaginative and dedicated, continually coming up with new challenges and approaches to keep lessons fresh. Shell be returning for her third summer to the Violin Bootcamp program -- I wasnt sure my kid was up for the intensive focus and long days, but she really enjoys digging in (with her violin friends) and gets a lot of satisfaction out of the improvement their hard work earns. I appreciate the chance to get to know all the instructors, and I like that they all know & encourage my daughter. Responsive staff, professional facility -- love it.

My daughter has taken violin lessons here for the past 3 years and it has been such a positive experience for both her and for our family. She started off in a group class and has since added private lessons--all along the way, she has been able to progress at her own pace in an environment that focuses on developing a students appreciation of art and music, not just learning the technical aspects of an instrument. The staff is enthusiastic and always looking for new ways to engage their students. One great example is the summer Violin Boot Camp, which has been a highlight of my daughters summer for the last two years.

My son has been learning piano at Potomac Arts Academy for the last 2 years. His piano teacher is Faith Zuniga. My son has shown a lot of growth in his ability to play piano under Faiths instruction. Potomac and their teachers do an excellent job in providing avenues for students to perform in front of an audience and participate in group settings by putting together studio classes and recitals on a consistent basis. We have really enjoyed our time at Potomac and with Faith, and we highly recommend them.

Our son attended the Potomac Arts Academy Summer Program this past Summer(2016). It was nothing short of a blessing and enriching experience for him. Attending camp gave him an opportunity to work with various teachers thus expanding his knowledge and playing styles. It was interesting to see the various ages of students from the wee ones to teenagers. Teachers are able to tap into the needs of each student. It was an awesome experience that made my son a better musician.

We have been with Potomac Arts Academy for two years, and we absolutely love it. My two children both take violin and have made tremendous progress during their time at Potomac Arts Academy. The private music instruction is top-notch. Our instructor tailors lessons to fit each childs skills, while taking their individual personalities into account. This is a stellar program.

Our family has had a wonderful experience at Potomac Arts Academy. The teachers we have had there (Michelle R. for piano and Claire A. for violin) are practicing, well-trained musicians and great educators. My kids have grown so much in their music in the years we have been here.

Our daughter has been taking piano lessons here for a few years now. We love her instructor! She connects with our daughter, but also challenges her to play the best she can. We are grateful for PAA!
