POOL NAZIs & Warning! My kids started to drown 3 times SUMMARY: And lifegaurds do nothing except blow whistlles at "rule breakers." Dont take your kids there if you want them to live. DROWNING FACTS: Lifegaurds seem to not pay attention to drowing people, namely my kids. I happen to be nearby for two of them, and my friend for the other one. They were completely submerged because they were accidently in an area too deep (and dont swim) My kids are learning to swim, and some other kids accidently pulled them (lifejacket) into the lazy river, and in another case, my infant jumped into deep water unknowingly during a class and nobody noticed, etc... Apparently, lifegaurds are trained to only look for people breaking rules, and not actually people in trouble. POOL NAZIs: You will go deaf because of the frequency of whistles being blown. There must be 1,000+ rules there. I hurt myself in the pool, enough to go to the hospital for xrays, and the only thing I heard while it happened was the lifegaurd blowing his whistle at me while I writhed in pain--seriously? YOU CANNOT * No touching the rope that borders the waterslide pool, * you cantsit on the edge in the same area, * you can only use the waterslide in one position, * you cant help your own kids on the playground, * you cant use anything in the pool except if its lifegaurd approved, * you cant wear a shirt if youre fat like me, * you cant swim there about half the day, because its closed for "open swim" even though you even pay for classes, want to learn to swim, etc... basically because they are inefficient and paranoid it seems * you must watch your own kids if under 6 and within arms reach, * you must shower before entering pool (learn how to treat water properly people)... * And most importantly, if its perceived that youre having any fun whatesover, you will be required to leave the pool IMMEDIATELY. All of these rules were discovered my first day there! I would hate to go back a second time and find more! YOU CAN (because there are no rules against such): * take your kids there especially when they are sick, * encourage your kids to pee in the pool * pick up on the lifegaurds (hopefully it doesnt distract them from their job too much) * You can take baby Orca whales and bottle-nosed dolphins into the pool Many lifegaurds there lack friendly interpersonal skills, but not all. Some are quite nice, so hit and miss.

After school ski program this year has been a disaster and would not recommend it UNLESS they make some serious changes. Buses late, going to the wrong schools at the wrong time on a simple routes, and today my kid was supposed to be picked up at Willow Canyon at 115pm (first stop on the route) and they went to another school first so he and one other kid waited 30 minutes for the bus. They didnt get on the hill until 330pm and get a few runs in. Its some what poorly disorganized. . They now have asked me to bring my kid to Park Lane on Fridays and pick him up at Park Lane "because the bus driver forgets to go to Willow Canyon." Thats not the program we signed our child up for and why not have all the kids from Park Lane just go to Willow Canyon? On the other hand, I do like Dimple Dell rec center for wall climbing, swimming, and basketball.

Broken glass on the floor for days! I took my daughter to the indoor swimming pool during winter. We really needed to get out and have fun. This place was HORRIBLE! When we got into the changing rooms, they were DISGUSTING. Broken glass on the floor, which we found because my daughter cut her foot on it!. It smelled and looked like it hadnt been cleaned in weeks. The garbage cans were almost overflowing. I almost walked out. But my little girl needed some fun time, so we stayed. The water was gross and freezing, the pool area wasnt clean either. The life guards were rude too. My friend wanted to go a few days later, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and went. The GLASS WAS STILL there, my daughters swim diaper was STILL in the garbage can. They dont clean. Its horrible.

CONS: The mens room lockers are absurdly small. I use two to equal about 75% of the space I had in the large lockers at 24-Hr Fitness. The showers are very spartan/utilitarian with floors that dont adequately drain the water. The pool area is often quite noisy, with high levels of white noise from the fountains and general noise of people yelling to each other or from class instructors shouting instructions over the canned workout music. The weekend hours for the pool are too restrictive. PROS: Most of the people at the desk are quite nice and helpful. The swimsuit spin drier was finally repaired after several months of inoperability.

Dimple fell is really a fun place except the courts seem to always be full. Weve called the front desks multiple times and they say that its going to be empty but it never is. They cant do that to people; it isnt right. We take our time to get ready to play but then when we get there its never open, very disappointing. The new design on the pool is much better. The staff is always helpful except for the court part. Dimple dell isnt the most organized center ever. Other than that Dimple Dell is really a good place to spend your day.

I love Dimple Dell. Its open on Sundays for morning Pickle Ball, the Pilates classes with Jenn are tops, ditto classes with Paula and Bethne. The fitness room offers weights, machines, treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes. The price is the best deal in town. The pool is enormous and has lanes designated for laps as well as a warm spot that can function as a spa treatment. Plus a climbing wall and ping pong tables. Its super.

I love Dimple Dell. Great fitness equipment, nice track, lots of tvs, and there are some pretty hot babes that go there. Plus theres a nice outdoor track, and thats free! They are open late Mon. thru Thurs., closing at 8 pm on Fri. and Sat. The people that work there are friendly. If you go with monthly automatic electronic funds transfer, membership is very affordable. Great way to get in shape and meet other people.

The kids had fun and for them, thats all that matters but for this mom, I was extremely disappointed. Upon entering Ive never Been Told from any other rec center that I had to pay simply to watch them swim. I had to pay the seven dollars (just for myself) you would normally pay to use the entire facility to watch my kiddos swim. Ultimately well be finding a different center to swim at after today.
