This is a huge park. Lots of rolling hills and and green space. Great walking lanes. There are some small playground areas for younger kids. I deducted 1 star though because I think this park could be better developed and the playground equipment is pretty basic. For such a prominent park it should have more investment in some stellar playground equipment. Last week we wanted to use a grill here. No can do. You have to rent a Pavillion for 1/2 day for 70 dollars. Why is there no small grills and picnic tables throughout the park for free use? There are a ton of things that could be done to bring this park to its full potential but for now it is mostly a big, pretty green space.

Great walking area for runners, walkers, and folks walking their dogs;there is also a bike lane. The park has boweries for picnics and parties. It has beautiful trees and flowers. Three things that could use improvement: voters approved funds for dredging the pond in the park. It has yet to be done and it is pretty bad(some water fowl still manage to float on the water but its not clean). Second: the restrooms should be unlocked year-round. Third: the sprinkling system has needed adjusting since it was turned on for the season: a lot of water has been wasted this summer by sprinklers shooting water out onto the roadways, often hitting pedestrians, bikers and passing vehicles.

Great place for running during the summer! The loop on the road around the park is plenty long and varies in altitude enough to keep things interesting, but not so much that you will tear yourself up trying to go up hills. The park is also a great place to go relax and have fun. There is plenty of grass on both hills and on flat terrain. There are also shaded areas with picnic tables and benches. Finally, this is hands down the best place to be on the 4th of July for the fireworks show that happens at night. There are tons of people who go, so its best to show up early and plan your escape (traffic gets crazy afterwards), but its well worth it.

Historic, majestic, and multipurpose. This park is great for families, college students, couples, and retirees alike. Many local events are held here and large green lawns, gentle sloped hills, botanical displays, and a variable elevation lend themselves to activities , gatherings, and exercises. A lovely creek runs through it and underground tunnels connect it to western nature walks and shopping centers. Both a fixture of Salt Lakes stories past (it was once the site of a prison and sugar mill and hosts the cities largest Fireworks display) and a symbol of the ascending Sugarhouse neighborhood , this park is wonderful.

This is a great park it is huge and has something for everyone. There is a big lake with ducks and geese. A small stream flows into the lake. Plenty of paths around the trough the park for jogging, biking or rollerblading. In the winter you can go sledding on the hills. There are several pavilions with picnic tables. Basketball courts, a place to play horseshoes. There are a couple of playgrounds for kids. There isnt much shade for the playgrounds. So, they are a bit too hot in the middle of a summer day. Overall just a great big nice park.

Great park with lots of different spaces for your needs. Has bathrooms, water fountains, bike lane, playgrounds, quiet benches. Creek running through the whole park. You can reserve spaces equipped with lots of picnic tables, grills and wood fireplaces. Lots of families do this for large events. Youll always see locals getting their exercise here, or relaxing in a hammock between the trees. Sometimes there are official races or events like fireworks. All around great park that is well manicured and safe.

Amazing Park. It is huge. It has a duck pond, 2 different large playgrounds, baseball diamond, large fields, big grassy hills that are awesome to sled on during the winter, a shallow and slow moving stream to explore, basketball courts, trail running, designated running and biking lanes on the paved loop, several covered picnic areas with grills that require reservations during the busy season. We love going there as a family on sunny Sunday afternoons. Highly recommended.

I took a break from my usual trip to Liberty Park today to try Sugar House, and I dont understand why everyone likes it! Its awful! I roller bladed through the whole thing, and there are hardly even any paths! The ones that are there are not worth it, as you cant hear anything over the sound of the highway. There was goose and duck poop covering a large part of the parks only loop path, and the pond smelled horrible. Salt Lakes worst park. Next time Ill just go to Liberty.

Bonito parque donde sistí a los festejos por el dia de la independencia el pasado 4 de julio con fireworks incluido lo que se va haciendo habitual desde ya hace 8 años. Tiene un lago artificial, playgrown, áreas para picnic, etc.

Sugarhouse Park is excellent! There is lots of open space, and many shelters with grills for cooking / picnics. Beware, for the shelters are often reserved, so if you are planning an event, call ahead and make a reservation. Beyond the ample green space and shelters, there is a pond, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, a running trail, and some playgrounds. The park is very popular, so dont expect there to be many empty days.

I always went there, for any intention - walking my dog, running, taking photos, picnicking, reading, or just being idle. This is a park that has a fantastic view - the snowy mountains and the pond and grass, and a convenient location, and full of well-behaved people. Simply put, its just a large park that has everything and you can do anything. Ive moved from Salt Lake City and this park is one of the best memories of the city.

If you want shade, this probably isnt the best park for that. They do have some trees and pavilions but most of the park is grass. And the pond is usually murky, dried up or just a muddy mess. Took my dog here last time but someone left their dog off its leash and it ran after my dog, got a little rough before I held the other dog until the owner could come up and grab him. Just be careful if you bring a dog here.

Very large Park, great for biking and running and walking. The reason for the 3 stars is that it always has a boggy smell and you will sometimes find a homeless person behind a tree. Make sure you keep an eye on your kids and keep on the path. There has been news of harmful activity recently. This used to be a really good park for summer Frisbee and sports. I hope it can get back to where it was.
