Discovery Park is over of those great places that has something for everyone. Of course, there are the ubiquitous lighted soccer fields, buyer there are also other fields for pickup haves of flag football or ultimate frisbee. There are paved trails that circle two fish ponds complete with resident ducks, turtles and fish. Benches along the way make for convenient spots to relax. Some are even shaded. There are several picnic shelters, but youll need to reserve one on busy weekends. The park sports a pair of sand volleyball courts and a concrete basketball court. There is also a pay area for younger children with swings and climbing boulders. Finally, there is a dirt trail, perfect for jogging or biking, that rings the entire park. Named for the discovery of a woolly mammoth skeleton found on the site during excavation, Discovery Park is a great neighborhood park that appeals to all members of the community.

My review of: Discovery District Park The park is cute. It is a 3 tiered park, the bottom level has a large flat area for sports like soccer with stands, the middle tier has a lake, the top tier has a small pond and play ground with covered picnic tables, Basket ball, Sand Volleyball, public restrooms and a snack shack. The play ground is covered in wood chips and is not covered. It is interesting but there is not much to it to hold kids attention for long. It has swings, a big round sphere with groves that make it look like Jupiter and a large natural looking boulder for mountain climbing practice and thats it. It is a beautiful view of the finished Gilbert Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Its a great park and very family friendly. There are large ramadas scattered throughout the park for family gatherings and food. At least one bathroom building, a few water fountains. Theres a pond/lake with ducks in the center, well-lit basketball courts, soccer fields, a volleyball court, and large grass areas for just about any other activity you could think of. Also great hills for ice-blocking and a nice trail to walk through the park.

This a nice park with some ponds you can fish in and lots of ducks. It isnt as big as it looks on the map and it was hard for us to walk our 3 miles just in the park. There were a lot of families taking advantage of the park and green grass areas while we were there. The park was clean and well kept. Overall and nice park.

I love how this park looks and feels. Parking is at the top of a slope that goes down into the park. There are two small bodies of water that you can walk around. Its serene and pretty. This park is perfect for a stroll or to walk your pets and there is a ton of parking around the park.

Great trails for walking including an outer path that includes 1/4 mile markers. I appreciate that the trails arent flat and have enough elevation change to keep any physical training more effective. Ponds with fish and ducks make for some fun photography practicing.

Love the fishing, double volleyball courts (kids use as a sandbox), sidewalks for biking, rock playground for climbing. We live pretty close so we wish it had some normal playground equipment. Parking can get a little tight at times because of sports practice/games.

I give 3 stars because I came to the park with young children and there wasnt much for them to do outside of running around the sports fields and using the walk. However, it is a beautiful park for picnics, sports, and quiet walks/meditation.

Love this park. Great views of the temple. Lots of recreation areas for basketball, beach volleyball. Kids play flag football here a lot and there is a great lake to feed the ducks. There is also a concert series at times in the park.

It was way better when they didnt have the law about using the hills to for any kind of sliding, riding, etc. because they are simply the steepest around. Very nice park either way and a wonderful view of the temple across the street.

Great place to go for a walk, volleyball, basketball, fishing, it even has practice fields for football and soccer. There are even virandas that can be reserved for barbecues and parties. Bathroom and other facilities.

Pretty park but not the greatest for small children. Several ponds with ducks and geese but no slide or playground equipment besides a few swings. Quite with not many people around and decently clean bathrooms.

Fun park with some playgrounds and lots of area to run around and have fun! IT can get rather busy when the weather is good but it is more than big enough to handle a crowd. The facilities are well kept too.

This park is great for what its intended to be which is open air and lots of large grassy spaces. But theres not really much of a playground. If youre wanting to play soccer with the family its great

The park was very nice, water and ducks. Parking lot wrapped around so it didnt matter too much where you parked, close to almost everywhere in the park.

This park is big. Lots of birds. Smells a little and lots of bird droppings on tables. Good safe place to walk or run. Not best to have a picnic.

Fun place to ride bikes and fish. Playground is pathetic, a couple swings and a rock for kids to play on. Great open space for all sports.
