I dont understand why every puppy owner gets freaked out when a dog gets near there puppy. At This park i ALWAYS have a problem cause people break rule #10 and bring there scared 8 week old puppy and they keep it on the leash and keep it in there lap and when another dog comes they shove it away and call it a "bad dog". Dogs play in there own way just like how humans do. If your dog cant handle a dog park then remove it cause other dogs actually play and are socialized. One your puppy could devlop something and infect every other dog as well. Your dog is just gonna grow up agressive cause it sences your weakness and will have to cover for that. If a dog dosnt like somthing or another dog it will let them know. Dog parks are the only off leash parks in san antonio for a reason. If you have a dog on a leash and bring it into a park just go for a walk on a trail. If you have an 8 week old puppy and want to start to socialize it. Go to your friends house if they have dogs or friends of friends dogs or even go for a walk on walking trails were dogs will pass by but DONT bring it i to a off leash dog park if all your gonna do it keep it under your feet pick it up or shove every dog that comes by. I dont understand... Whats the point. Thats not socializeing it its showing your dog you have no strength and your weakness. You dont need to baby the puppy that is why we have alot of agressive dogs out there. as long as your dog isnt in danger or getting torn apart its fine. They have to learn. You stoping everything is not teaching them independance or to be strong and social. I hate going to this park cause of those owners that come with there weak puppies they are ignorant and blind and ruien the exsperience for my dogs to run around and play.

I love this park! There is a playground for the kids, baseball/softball fields, and basketball courts. Also there are several fields where people are playing organized sports like cricket. Pavilions and picnic tables and Always a really family oriented atmosphere. I mainly go to the dog park and to walk my dog on the path that goes around a mine pond. There is a place she can get in the water, cool off, and there are always families and dogs out there she can play with. The dog park is nice with places to sit in the shade at anytime of day. I havent had too many issues with aggressive dogs there. Especially compared to other parks. There are a couple water fountains for the dogs and fixtures they can climb on or play in. and the grounds are well kept. The only issue is parking. The park has gotten very popular and during busy hours there isnt many places to park. Sometimes I have to drive up on to the curb and park in the grass. You can tell many others do this too because a good portion of the ground around the parking lot is now just loose dirt.

On nice cement trails that have small creeks run under them but it smells like people dont pick up and throw away dogs #2. The water spout to rinse dog off has been broken for weeks. That is kinda annoying bc my dog swims and then rolls around in the dirt in dog park. I bought wipes so thats not a huge thing. the water for dogs and people Always works so your dog nor you be thirsty. I think more People should put small dogs in the small dog portion of the fenced in dog part but there isnt a sign of how short to be in large park, but a sign that says that dogs can only so high in small dog park. However there isnt shade, sitting and there should be one more water fountain in small dog part so thats probably why they go to large part. Great room to roam Its my fav dog park in San Antonio

We took our 6 month old puppy here today. He is a big dog, part pit and part boxer. He is sweet and never aggressive. He was attacked by 3 dogs. None of the owners of the dogs came to pull their dogs off of him. My puppy was in the fetal position yelping and bleeding everywhere. The dogs came back. I had to cover my dog and push the other dogs away. I finally grabbed my dog and got him to safety. One man walked by and said that this happened earlier to another dog. My husband and I were covered in blood and my puppy has to have stitches. He has 2 puncture wounds in his neck and his ear was almost bit in two. To make matters worse... my two children witnessed the whole thing. I would not recommend this park to anyone! My dog and family will never go back there.

I love this dog park but the fact that people allow little children to play in the enclosed area is a bit discomforting. I mean, there are LARGE dogs running around playing, (ITS A DOG PARK) the playground is right across the parking lot, there is no reason to risk your child getting knocked over by a rambunctious dog just trying to enjoy some time with his dog buddies. Its seems like people dont understand that some dogs just arent that good with little kids. It seems that people are putting their children in unnecessary risk, as if they are trying to get a lawsuit out of it! The same with people that allow little dogs in the large dog area.

The Dog Park is awesome and the trails is great. The kid park is kind of crummy considering how many people come here. Its super beat up compared other parks that have been upgraded. I have kids and live around the corner but I find myself having to go to another area. Also the basketba courts need a cover. It is hot as hell on those courts someday. While the new court appreciated, there is no shade and un-usable. Ive lived over here for years and am beginning to wonder what the Representative actual do around here? This whole area from 90 to 151 is slowly declining. Idk even know who they are anymore.

I came here with my dog because of the high reviews, but ended up leaving after 20 minutes. While the dog park has a little more shade than the rest of the park, it still is pretty bare, and my dog quickly overheated. The dog fountain in the small park did not work, so Im glad I brought my own water and dog dish. I would recommend visiting later on in the day, or early in the morning, and perhaps you will have a better experience. Unfortunately for us, the drive was not worth it, and we will probably visit an on-leash park closer to my apartment that has more shade.

Love this dog park has a one large dog off lease and one small dog off lease area i take my husky every weekend to play with other dogs. But people should keep their lil kids & lil dogs out of the large dog area but they run around a lot. And one lady kicked my dog cuz he was smelling a lil dog that should have been in the small dog area in the first place. Then a lil kid fell cuz lots of dog was running around. So please read and follow rules for your dogs & kids safely.
