It seems like in 2016, this is a new establishment. I came here (like first reviewer) for the Other Mozart play. PROS Location was easy to find on GPS (of course, in the art/theater district downtown) and thats always a negative if youre from Katy area but culture is a great thing to have in Houston! Parking not bad. We parked across from Match in a small underground garage and paid $5, literally crossing the street in 2 minutes. Ticketing was fine, printed out our tickets and were scanned at entrance. The stage and room is smaller (dont expect symphony style location as I did) more like 20x20 seats. Great that they have risers so we can all see. I noticed they had mini bars outside but we were too cold to wait and show was almost starting. Bathrooms on location, PLENTY of stalls for women, thanks. Great surround sound during play and lights were really, really well set up and in-sync with show. CONS Somewhat noisy flooring. During show, 2 people left and we could hear the shoes on floor and squeak of floor or risers ( it does distract from a play). Somewhat crowded seating (small chairs next to each other), better if you dont come bundled up. And I wish the A/C or fan was turned up more. Husband and I had someone behind us (or around us somewhere) who ate MASSIVE amounts of garlic and the hot breath was UNBEARABLE. It might sound like whining but if you are in pain to not smell someones inconsiderate hygiene, its better to have some more air circulation to waft that distraction. Definitely coming back though.

A great venue that allow for several size audience, from small and intimate to a full size community art event. The concession stand is a nice new addition since my first visit shortly after it opened. The Match is near several local eateries, downtown, and the parking structure is just across the street. Unfortunately, there is no protected walkway in the event of bad weather.

I saw my 1st play @ the Match Theatre since they opened in October 2015 in support of the director of Tamarie for President that was personification at its best. I must return for a full facility tour since hearing about it a year in advance of construction at a townhall session. Wonderful concept, and I hope to be back. Parking was easy since I caught a spot right in front.

MATCH is a great venue for arts and theater in central Houston. MATCH has a nice, small outdoor cafe (concession stand). It is nice to have a parking garage across the street, but exiting after a performance can be a lengthly process due to many patrons waiting to pay upon exit at the gate, rather than completing payment at the paystation in the garage.

Love coming here to watch Catastrophic Theatre performances! Its new, its clean, everything is wheelchair accessible. Theres food and snacks available for purchase, and they serve alcohol. Its right off the rail line, but theres plenty of paid parking in the garage across the street. Its a great home for the smaller art exhibits and performances.

This is a wonder addition to the Houston community. It makes it possible for smaller companies or performance groups to put on big shows, which enhances the Houston art scene. The facility is beautiful and easy to navigate. With the opening of the parking garage right next door, parking is now super convenient.

No late entries, even by 2 minutes. Considering the parking on busy days is awful, its a questionable policy. Wortham allows late entries, Alley allows late entries, Broadway as well... Also no refunds on "donations" after youre not allowed to enter. This policy should be communicated better, its not a norm.

I feel the staffs are extremely rude and not able to work with people. I did an event and very unhappy with the way the staff behaves with paying clients. Will never do any other event. When they change staff, I might be able to do another event. So disgusted with those people.

My daughter is attending theater camp here. Shes 6. The staff is energetic and kind. Parking wasnt perfect, so they treated all the campers to Shrek the Musical one day. Great intro to scripts, stage, performance for girls AND boys.

We have dance practice here sometimes. They have good marley floors for performances and the theater we worked in is very nice (matchbox 2). I would like to actually come and see a performance here.

Took my 8yo daughter here to watch a Fancy Nancy play. The actors were great, and the theater was awesome. I highly recommend this place if you want good entertainment.
