Howl at The Moon is certainly a place for you to have some good live music playing, a great place to dance in Midtown, and most of all, one of the best place for people watching. This is not a place for you to socialize because the place is so loud that you will be screaming at each other, making hand gestures, and mouthing back the word "What?" as you cannot hear each other even though youre sitting next to the person. I would certainly suggest you sign up on their website and see if you could win a happy hour party as you and your friends will not need to pay for the cover fee and youll get drink tickets for $1 drinks. Of course, if youre staying it through the night, you can then start ordering the 86oz buckets of booze. Again, this is certainly out of the ordinary bars in the Midtown area. The crowd is also a big mixed crowd as theres usually a birthday crowd, the older generation crowd (who tends to leave around 10PM), the drunk crowd, etc. Like others have said, the drinks may taste a little bit watered down or diluted where you cant taste the alcohol, but if you stayed there long enough, it will catch up to you. I havent had a bad time visiting this establishment yet and I will certainly come back whenever my friends and I wants to chill out in Midtown.

Went for someones birthday. I thought it would be a nice experience, but when we got there and we were about to sit down, some lady just sat herself down, than claimed it was her table. But keep in mind we both sat down at the same time. And we had a friend who was already sitting on that table. so basically she called over the bouncer and he basically sided over to her since we were much younger than her. i felt a little racism too when i was talking to him, i was like its fine ill get up and i told him this is the worst bar i have been to and not coming back. i came there to enjoy my time and plus i dont like aruging with idiots. you pay to get in, pay for valet and than they dont even treat you nicely. not worth the time, and its not for college students either or the younger crowd. you will have more fun if your drunk and than you wont care. the waiteress were pretty rude, i didnt buy any drinks from them after the way they treat our group. not coming back here. been to better places. i would try celtic gardens which is right next door, shot bar, or wonder bar. this is more for the college students to ppl in their 30s. good looking crowd too if i would say so.

I would say that Wednesday is the best day to go to Howl at the Moon. All drinks are half off and there is no cover. However, the current pitfalls of this place are 1) a lack of parking. 2) The musicians replay the same songs OVER AND OVER. They dont really take your requests (despite compensation). They just play a selected song bank of about 50 songs. If I hear the "black girl sing in Spanish" one more time I am going to scream. 3) The "waitresses" are often very rude. They typically end up "bus-ing" their tables because they are SO SLOW that everyone just goes to the bar. I went to Howl at the Moon in New Orleans and it was one hundred times better. They actually took your requests and stated your name when they played a song. 4) The "pianos" are actually electronic keyboards in pieces of wood shaped as pianos. I would not recommend this place unless you go on a Wednesday. P.S. You DID NOT win a happy hour party. EVERYONE with an email address wins a happy hour party. It is a marketing ploy to get people to come in earlier and spend money. So, save your time and embarassment.

My family and I were Very dissatisfied how the Houston location handled paying customers. We were enjoying the night until this Rude woman that worked the floor approach us and told us we HAD to get rid of the 5th seat. She had a BAD attitude and told us that my aunt was going to have to stand. After we paid to get in. We wanted to talk to a manager hoping that would help. Unfortunately that didnt work, Chris Kelly came to our table and had the same bad attitude. Told us, "I dont know what to tell you" . He said That the chair was blocking the area when the isle were clear. He was unwilling to make the situation right. He had this I dont care attitude towards us, his paying customers. He didnt offer a better sitting area. We couldnt believe how rude management was. We had an excellent waiter, Marcus, but after the management horrible attitudes we all wanted to leave as soon as possible. This was our first time and LAST time coming!

I dont know what everyone was listening to when they went to this place! The entertainment was TERRIBLE. So, I went here with my boyfriend and his brother after reading all of the great reviews for this bar. First of all, we had to pay a cover, which I didnt like, but it seemed doable since the reviews were so great. Drinks started at about $8 each, and werent all that great. Now, onto the piano players. They were alright on the piano, but, seriously, they could not sing a note. There were about 3 of them singing and playing instruments, and one was worse than the next. It was actually painful to listen to. It was the biggest waste of money, ever. Head right next door for better entertainment and more fun.

Like the other reviews have said, this place is loud. Very loud. Thats not a negative or positive commentary, just a statement and a warning to those who come to whisper to each other at a table. You can go out to the patio to talk, but its not a lot of space and its usually filled with cigarette smoke. That being said, this place is a blast if you want to let loose and have fun. Drinks are cheap (especially if you get a bucket) and the music is fantastic. The artists are creative and willing to play a good range of music if you tip them well. Ive seen a lot of parties here and people always have a great time. Definitely worth the experience

Fun atmosphere. Piano bar. The musicians play cover songs, by request, and are pretty good. They arent the best at the getting the crowd engaged, but its a bar. The drink specials are decent, and if you go to their website you can sign up to win a happy hour. I won a happy hour, which had nice specials perks as well. Parking stinks tho.. either $10 valet, or whatever street parking you can find. But it is downtown, so what else would be expected. Overall, Fun place to have a few fun drinks with a few people. The pic i included is one of their 86 oz. bucket mixed drinks. Tasty.

Pretty expensive to reserve a table for people. And you must reserve one or you may not be able to find a place to sit. $125 per table for us x 2, it was my birthday and we had a great time but it was just a little too much for a good time. They take requests and play your songs, the girl was amazing!! I would pay to see her anywhere. We had fun and it was a good experience but I probably wont invite a bunch of people to come next time, but Im really not sure if there will be a next time (kinda over it). And the drinks were so so, not the best.
