Great place to visit for your viewing pleasure as well as to partake in by adding your own art to the gallery. Whether its just writing "I was here", or expletives like F bombs, arse and tatas , stick figures, or painting exquisite murals; You can find relevant art for all ages and creative levels. I was only there to check out the art this time, but would definitely return with my family and/or friends to spray paint next time! Be prepared to climb and get your hands dirty, and maybe a few scuffs if you arent so careful. Id recommend wearing hiking boots because when we got there, we saw a few girls with DSLRs have trouble getting up/down the sides of the trail. One girl slipped and scratched up her leg where it was bleeding. The trail is rather steep, actually. There isnt a railing to hold on to, so its easy to slip and tumble down. Its especially difficult when youre wearing flats or other non-grippy shoes.

I took a friend of mine over there a few days ago. Its a place where you can paint on walls legally. This is a graffiti artists dream. You dont get any extra points or "street cred" for doing it illegally. You utilize your talent whenever and wherever you can. Its pretty great to be able to not have "jail" hanging over your head when doing a piece. And its not just graffiti thats being done here. Theres all types of artwork being done. The only downside to having free walls is that your artwork wont stay up for very long, but still fun either way.

Intriguing and worthwhile outdoor art installation in a state of constant flux. Due to its informal nature, there are some serious accessibility issues (I am not certain the upper levels are visible to those in wheelchairs or unable to climb up a steep hill trail), and not every artist is as conscientious about what they leave behind (ie. spray-can lids etc) as they should be. Parking is also a *massive* hassle on busier days. Still, as a living embodiment of art, its well worth your time.

Bring spray paint or you will wish you had! Me my husband and or 2yr old, 5yr old and 7 yr old really enjoyed this stop. You can make it quick or stay awhile and chat with artists. There is no legal parking close but everyone parks along the road anyway. We parked at the bottom of the hill and walked to the gallery. It is easy to get from the bottom to the top especially if u walk up the hill all the way to the right. Very pretty view of Austin at the top. Recommended for most ages

A MUST see if youre visiting Austin. I did not know about the HOPE outdoor gallery when I first moved to Austin and discovered it while taking the "Austin in a Day" tour on Austin Detours (highly recommend this as well). This is a unique outdoor space filled with incredible graffiti art that is constantly changing by new artists. Its definitely part of the keep Austin weird culture and is a true gem of the city. Its off of South Lamar near the Whole Foods so make sure to stop by!

This place is so cool. Its a collective art piece that is ever-evolving and has so many artists that have collaborated. Its an evolving piece of graffiti art that is always changing. Just make sure to bring your hiking boots cause its a bit of a climb. There are a few steep inclines to get to the top of this graffiti park. It was an awesome experience overall. I recommend everyone to go and experience it. They also sell pieces of past artworks there.

The place has really gone down hill since Ive last been here a few years ago. I think its too popular now. Too many people bringing spray paint just to write their name on the wall over what used to be beautiful paintings. This place used to be covered in great artwork. Now its just a place filled with vanity. If you like to take selfies in front of your own name. This is the perfect place for you.

This is such a fun location to come to in Austin. Whether you live here or are just visiting. Weve been living in Austin for three years and came to check it out ourselves the first time and ever since have been back several more times to show visiting friends and family. It is forever changing of course and is a lot of fun to explore. There are a ton of talented artists that post their work here!

The art pieces are way too few and far between. Any interesting illustrations are instantly blotted out with names and initials. The place is crawling with teenagers carrying spray cans and purporting to be rebels. The fumes at the site are brain cell killing intense! The lack of creativity, coupled with the strong smell, means this is one spot you can skip on your tour of Austin.

Really cool place away from the hustle of downtown, but with a fantastic view of the city. There were a lot of teens running around and "tagging", but there was also a very talented artist doing a large piece on a wall. Really cool to watch. Theres just tons to look at, and the layered walls make it fun to climb up and look back down. Cool spot.

I get that this graffiti park is an Austin landmark, but I was honestly a little disappointed. There are spray paint cans and trash everywhere, and the majority of the art on the walls consists of people spraying their names or profanity to completely cover up art that is actually interesting. I guess, based on its reputation, I expected more.

I love the concept here but half the time when I go the walls are full of just awful garbage. The beautiful stuff really talented artists spend hours/days working on are regularly completely defaced or covered over within a day or two with awful boring tags. Why cant people let beautiful art just BE for a little while before screwing it up?

This cute community park is a great place to sit and people watch for an hour. The graffiti wall is incredibly cool to look at. There is, unfortunately, a lot of people just running around and trash everywhere. It was definitely not the cleanest place and there really isnt that much to do expect walk to the top and sit a bench for a bit.

Often crowded, a good place for graffiti art, people watching & photo ops. Though depending on what type of photos youd like, you may want to try and go during an off time. Weekends are especially crowded. We really like the various artists styles & subjects. Can almost always find bright colors & fun subjects, which we like. Have fun!

One of the coolest things to see in Austin and it is always changing which makes it the type of place you could spend hours in one week and get a totally different experience the next week. It is the perfect place to take friends from out of town and also to just go for a quick stroll through even if you have lived here your whole life.

The artwork that was still there looked absolutely beautiful. The thing is that the pieces, the actual artwork, is covered in pointless wordings like phrases and names. People have decimated the beautiful art that was once there and that breaks my heart. I went there hoping to see artwork, I only caught a glimpse of ACTUAL artwork.
