At the final reunion of the 402nd Fighter Squadron ,(370th Fighter Group )Association , hosted by Ron Mutcher, I was lucky to be winner of the drawing from a hat of a flight in the T-6 Texan. I flew the T-6 in 1944 advanced flight training at Williams Field near Phoenix and also was an Instructor Pilot after the war at both Luke Field and Randolph Field. It was very exciting to again fly it after 60 plus years and at the age of 82! No I did not get to take-off nor land it but I felt that I surely could have if my excellent museum pilot had suddenly become ill or fell out of the plane--- maybe thats why he wouldnt let me do Loops !?.I want to thank him for a "great experience".I hope he enjoyed it too! The museum was also a fitting venue for our final dinner in the hanger under the wings of a real War Bird P-40 where we remembered all the ones already "Gone West"! Charles E. We planned for 2 hours at this museum. 4 hours later we realized we had to head home for dinner. This was an absolutely amazing museum with beautiful aircraft that range from WW I and II, the Korean War, Vietnam, and the Cold War. Most aircraft are restorations and have an amazing story and history behind them. The staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to answer any questions you may have. We had the fortune of running into a Vietnam vet named Bob who gave us a personal tour of the original aircraft he flew during the war. The stories he had are something I will always remember. I gurentee the people who have complained its a "small" museum didnt realize theres a door in the main hanger that leads outside to THREE other giant hangers full of aircraft and even a tank! If you are interested in history, aviation, or just looking for something new. This is the place to go. Enjoy!

I thought this was a great place to visit! Lots of planes to see and read about. Since it is in a hanger and some of the planes are outside, go when the weather is cooler or earlier in the day. For only $10/adult, this is a very nice place where an airplane enthusiasts can geek out a little bit. I thought the ladies at the desk were very pleasant and welcoming. Id go again when its cooler, (visited in Sept when Dallas is still HOT) and hope to go again soon. Its a little gem in the middle of the metroMESS called Dallas!

Im from India and I happened to visit the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, two weeks ago. I spent a couple of hours at the museum and must say that they have a fine set of exhibits which included a few planes from the First and Second World Wars and a few modern jet types as well. The staff were kind and extra helpful. In short, it was a great experience.

Nice, clean, kept up small Museum. Quiet Sunday. Leisurely way to spend afternoon. Not crowded, nice part of town. Recommend Liberty Burger, or something close by afterwards. Had the Ahi Tuna sandwich at Liberty, very good. A little on the high price side for a sandwich, but sometimes you get what you pay for :).

A cool enough place to spend a couple of hours looking at old airplanes. Not quite as cool as the museum at Love Field, in my opinion, but definitely cool enough. Especially if you like war planes. Or you have a few thousand dollars to blow for a 30 minute ride I a jet or stunt plane.

I recently bought my mom an airplane ride for her birthday and we were able to go up in an open cockpit biplane. It was an amazing experience! The flight was great, smooth and the pilot was exceptional. We were comfortable and had a great flight. I recommend a visit and a flight.

My boyfriend is so into airplanes, aeronautics and stuff like that. We had fun here. It was a really great and informational outing. We didnt go when tour guides were available (which is on weekends, I believe), but I think we had more fun going at our own pace. Will be back!

This is a great place to check out if you love aviation. A fantastic collection of static models, engines, memorabilia, and general aviation nut stuff. Plus you have the fun of not knowing what may show up when youre there as the rest of the CAF frequents regularly.

If you are interested in airplanes, from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, take the time and check this out! I thought that 2 hours will enough, but after all I was there more than 4 hours and did not check everything!

Fairly small and tucked away, but plenty of classic planes up close like a Spitfire, B25, biplanes, rotary and in-line engines, Huey helicopter, MIGs, etc. Well worth a visit if you enjoy such things

The staff was SO friendly and HELPFUL! We were able to view a plane my dad a crew chief for in Vietnam. Made our day! Thank you :-) Great collection of military aircraft from WWI, WWII, Vietnam, and Korea.

A great place to view airplanes of nearly all periods in history. Just dont go in the summer. These are in several hangars, and even with several fan vents there is no way to properly cool the place.

Such a great place, my husband does scale models and very much had a great time seeing the larger scale of what he has been making. My 9 yr old had a blast and our parents enjoyed it as well!

A good collection of WW planes. Needs interactive sessions or walks. Maybe student volunteers, I dont know if they will be interested. I heard there are drone related activities.

Great place, I basically had the place to myself. All the aircraft are in awesome shape and some still fly. Cool to see equipment used in more than a few wars and engagements.
