We went up with 40 students and we let the office know when we would be there. As we came across the bridge to start our hike, there was a Ranger there waiting for us. Without us asking, Ranger Dave was there to give our students a great history lesson!! It was so cool and the kids LOVED it. He was amazing and had endless amounts of knowledge about it. Even our students made comments about how they were blown away by Dave knowing so much- down to the exact size of each step! So cool- cant thank them enough for caring so much! The trails were very well maintained. Georgeous park! We did the southern loop starting and ending at Trout Run Trail Head- it was about 6.06 miles! -21st Century Cyber Charter School

Great state park for a bike ride, a leisurely stroll or taking the dogs out and getting them some exercise. The Swatara Creek runs down through this park and adds to the serenity and appeal of the park. Creek also attracts a number of kakakers but can be a bit temperamental at times in terms of water levels. The AT crosses through this park so it makes for good conversation for those who are thru hiking. This park is situated that its butted up to 44000 + acres of woodland in State Game Land 211. I encourage all to get outdoors and explore this park.

Great rail trails. The river looks like lots of fun to paddle on. Cant wait to come back. Spoke to a park ranger and it seems like they are going to do more improvements on the park if they get the funding. All of the mountain bikers looked like they were having a great time. A passerby said that there is a canoe rental nearby as well as inner tubes for the river.

Awesome place to do a little mountain biking. Not terribly technical, but fun. Six different loops so you could be there anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. There is also access to a nice rail trail.

Scenic rail trail but it was incredibly bumpy due to horse footprints that must have been put in while it was wet. Our front suspension bikes still couldnt dissipate the violent vibrations.

We passed through the south end of the park while hiking a section of the Appalachian Trail. The trail was well maintained and the parking areas were well marked with rules and regulations.

Very flowy and fun stacked loop of trails, primarily used for mountain biking. Total distance is under 10 miles if you do every loop once.
