We went up with 40 students and we let the office know when we would be there. As we came across the bridge to start our hike, there was a Ranger there waiting for us. Without us asking, Ranger Dave was there to give our students a great history lesson!! It was so cool and the kids LOVED it. He was amazing and had endless amounts of knowledge about it. Even our students made comments about how they were blown away by Dave knowing so much- down to the exact size of each step! So cool- cant thank them enough for caring so much! The trails were very well maintained. Georgeous park! We did the southern loop starting and ending at Trout Run Trail Head- it was about 6.06 miles! -21st Century Cyber Charter School
Great state park for a bike ride, a leisurely stroll or taking the dogs out and getting them some exercise. The Swatara Creek runs down through this park and adds to the serenity and appeal of the park. Creek also attracts a number of kakakers but can be a bit temperamental at times in terms of water levels. The AT crosses through this park so it makes for good conversation for those who are thru hiking. This park is situated that its butted up to 44000 + acres of woodland in State Game Land 211. I encourage all to get outdoors and explore this park.
Great rail trails. The river looks like lots of fun to paddle on. Cant wait to come back. Spoke to a park ranger and it seems like they are going to do more improvements on the park if they get the funding. All of the mountain bikers looked like they were having a great time. A passerby said that there is a canoe rental nearby as well as inner tubes for the river.
this is a great palce to pick strawberries & raspberries in the summer. it has a long stream where you can fish or innertube. great to hike, bike and just walk. there is a paved stretch of the road that rolls through the entire park.
Well maintained and a great place for hiking & mountain biking. I go there on a regular occurrence. Trails for all skill levels and not to mention there are some really neat places to discover from bridges to old canal locks.
Love it. So many trails with various terrains, difficulty and lengths. Great views everywhere. Plenty of wildlife. Just be sure wear hunter orange during hunting season. Access to beautiful section of the Appalachian Trail.
Awesome place to do a little mountain biking. Not terribly technical, but fun. Six different loops so you could be there anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. There is also access to a nice rail trail.
Scenic rail trail but it was incredibly bumpy due to horse footprints that must have been put in while it was wet. Our front suspension bikes still couldnt dissipate the violent vibrations.
We passed through the south end of the park while hiking a section of the Appalachian Trail. The trail was well maintained and the parking areas were well marked with rules and regulations.
Absolutely beautiful, nature at its finest. The cabin on the falls is amazing. Easy trail to get to falls with the entire family , young and older. Another hidden gem in PA
Great place to fish, swim, walk, bike, hike or picnic! Bordners cabin is well worth a trip to visit and the falls in Tremont is beautiful. Trails are nice and maintained.
I went up for the first time for mountain biking with some friends and I had a great time. The scenery was great. And I would like to fish from my kayak next time.
Great kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, hiking, fossile digging, hiding from your wife, running away from society etc. Check out Bordner cabin, so cool.
Very flowy and fun stacked loop of trails, primarily used for mountain biking. Total distance is under 10 miles if you do every loop once.
Awesome mountain bike trails, great rail trail loop. This place is a real gem, and I drive over an hour to visit just for the trails.
Great place to mountain bike. Especially on a time schedule. You can ride all the loops in less than 2 hours. Fun.
A wonderful park to spend a few hours! Be sure to check out Bordners Cabin, the Fossil pile and the canal locks.
Great place for mountain biking. Well labeled trails, plenty of parking. Also good for kayaking, hiking, etc.
Great time there, had fun walking the trails with our pups, will return later this year in the fall ! !
It was a beautiful hike. The bridges and river really give it a peaceful feeling.
Favorite park possibly anywhere in PA. Mountain bike trails are great here.
Trails are smooth and not rocky. Go some where else if you want rocks.
Beautiful park. Nice for walks and biking. Check out the fossil pit!
