We really love JPP. The park and bike route is easily accessible, and our entire family loves the location, history and amenities. The only reason I am giving it four/five stars is because of our experience last Friday. I arrived with my two toddlers mid-morning. We rode our bikes for an hour or so, explored the static displays and then the lighthouse. We then proceeded to eat lunch at the picnic tables beneath the bridge. I promised my children we could go to the jungle-jim after our ride and lunch, and of course, they reminded me while we washed our hands in the restrooms adjacent to the tables. When we arrived at the playground there were apr. 20 kids on the equipment. Their parents/caregivers were standing around talking in small cliques or camped out on picnic blankets throughout the space, while their children ran around practically unsupervised, eating on/around the equipment and leaving trails of cheese puffs, chips and other food stuffs scattered throughout. Needless to say, we departed shortly after our arrival. Hopefully some of those parents are reading this and will start to utilize areas of the park more suitable for food consumption.

Beautiful park built under the massive Wilson drawbridge on I-95. The park contains two separate playgrounds, both gated but with zero shade, and easy access to restroom facilities. There is a huge swath of shaded parking space, several football fields long, thats almost always empty and therefore perfect for the child learning to bike ride, Rollerblade, etc. Theres also a lovely, flat hike (part-sun, part-shade) to the water, including some historical buildings to explore and a great view of the river. The Mount Vernon bike trail passes through here as well. Definitely a place to explore on a beautiful spring day!

I love this park so much. Theres a huge area under the bridge that is VERY well kept where kids can bike or scooter safely. There are lots of beautiful views of the water. Its located on D.C., Virginia, and Maryland soil and has markers throughout to show you where the borders are, and kids get a hoot out of being in 2 places at the same time. There are 2 playgrounds (one larger) and a nice community garden you can walk through nearby. The bathrooms are also very well kept, and there are picnic tables available. Wonderful spot to take your kids.

One of my favorite local parks. Great for kids, with lots of different things to do. Playgrounds are modern and well-maintained, theres lots of shade under the bridge (would be a great place to safely teach a kid how to ride a bike). Nice interpretive signage and historical sites, and strolling through the community gardens is quite relaxing.

This park is a true hidden gem! The playground for children is new, clean and safe. Adults can enjoy access to the Mount Vernon/ GW Parkway Trail as well as restrooms. My favorite part of this park is the massive paved area in the shade under the bridge. This is a perfect place to learn to ride a bicycle and practice new skills.

Beautiful park underneath Woodrow Wilson bridge. Features basketball courts, walking trails, interpretive signs, a preserved wooden rudder from an early steel ship, and plenty of space to run around and take in beautiful Potomac views. Also features public restrooms and an access point to the southern half of Mt Vernon trail.

Excellent, safe, fenced-in playgrounds! Swings, slides, teeter totters, handicapped accessible. This park is quieter than other Old Town Alexandria parks. The playground can get hot as there is no shade, but one can go for a walk in the trees or picnic under the Woodrow Wilson bridge, which is nicer than it sounds! ;)

Cute little park under the Wilson Bridge. Has plenty of field and grassy areas, a nature walk area thats kid-friendly, very clean restrooms, basketball hoops, and is a main access point to the Mt Vernon trail. Theres a large parking lot but it can fill quickly on the weekends in nice weather.

Nice small park with many kids play areas. Also has a huge open parking lot that ironically you cant park in, but this is great for kids to play in (completely protected from traffic). Also has the historic Jones point light house that you can visit.

Where in the world can you shoot hoops underneath a bridge???? Right here is where. Always a breeze, because its next to the river, and even if its raining, all good. Swish!!!!

Amazing park. There is lots of shade, has lots of historical value, and it has a nice waterfront view. The playground is modern, however it has become a little overgrown.
