Most awful experience, I stopped in today for what else- a tasting and to explore wines. The women greeted us, how can I help you, I said very friendly, "just stopping in and checking you out." There was NO response.... Just a blank stare... She did greet my 5 year old with enthusiasm, dont know if the 5 year old was the problem. My child was holding my hand and well behaved. She was giving a tasting to another couple, and never said... Just finishing up with these folks and I will be right with you, nothing.. The women just ignored us! We looked around in the shop etc, and decided to leave. All we need was a friendly response like we, produce.... Xyz style grape etc, NOPE NOTHING we were ignored! So you know what, I dont need your wine. We decide to leave, then she came running out behind us, "can I help you folks." What do you think I stopped into your winery for.. Seriously the rudest winery I have ever experienced !! They might have good wine, but I dont need to be ignored!

So I am really reviewing the wine bar that the Black Walnut Winery has at 260 Bridge St, Phoenixville, PA. After touring Valley Forge we googled and found this location about 15 minutes away. Being out of state visitors, our guide Allen walked us through what grapes grow well here in this region as well as other states in the North East. The offerings by Black Walnut were excellent - not too sweet, not too dry, and not too oaky. Very well balanced and drinkable. Have visited dozens of wineries and this is one of the rare visits where I purchased a case.

Attended a Birthday Party here for my sister once, Your able to bring your own food, since they do not have a restaurant or cafe on the premises. Outside seating isnt real comfortable, but its a nice atmosphere. And I really enjoyed their Mascato.

They have a good variety of wine and some unique flavors. We really enjoyed the spicy seasonal Smitten, but overall they did not have a lot of great wines. Id say its at least worth stopping in and doing a tasting if you are in the area.
