Ive always liked this park. Its great for picnics (though there arent any grills) — including a covered area that can fit medium-sized groups; provides facilities to play basketball, baseball, soccer, even tennis; has both restrooms and porta potties; and it probably has one of the best dog parks in town. It can get crowded, though — especially when the kids in the adjacent school have recess, on balmy summer weekends, and when its swift-viewing season — so plan group events accordingly.

No grass. Only big dogs and it seems the dog owners dont care what their dogs do as it is more of a social time for people. Im a Portland native and went to grade school at Chapman. Ive been to the dog park several times and each time the dogs are more unruly. Example: jumping in the drinking water and then peeing in it only to the owner to laugh and not clean it out. Try another park!

Worth driving over the bridge My dog loves to play with other dogs, but I dont trust him in an unfenced park yet. This is a great fenced area with attentive owners who are sensitive to making sure their dogs play nice. I wish I had something comparable within walking distance -- youd think we would in inner NE -- but until we do, Ill make the trip.

Finding a parking spot around the perimeter took some time, but I snagged one. Our party was under the pavilion where we cooked, are and talked the day away. The outfield was big enough for group play activities for humans and dogs alike. Theres even a fenced dog run. Would totally visit again.

One of the better dog parks in Portland, but on the smaller side despite the size of the rest of the park. Outside the dog park theres a lot of open field and shade from trees. Lots of activity on summer weekends but still plenty of space to go around.

This dog park is completely fenced in and surrounded by bushes at some parts of the fence. The fence is around 3 feet high tho, but if your dog is paying attention to other dogs they shouldnt notice they can easily scale the fence in one forward bound.

As an all weather park, it is a good day to day park. Close to the various neighborhoods. It is well fenced and large enough to through a ball or stick without hitting the fence. They keep it well mulched so that there arent giant puddles.

This is a lovely park by an elementary school. Tall trees, childrens playground, a dog park, all surrounded by the quite and beautiful neighborhood of northwest. This is also the place to watch the Swifts go down the chimney in fall.

The fenced in dog park is small, but they have bark down which keeps it from being too muddy. So far, all my visits to the park have been positive and those they bring their dogs are friendly as well as their owners.

Nice dog park, most patrons are friendly (dogs and humans). Well maintained. Issues with dogs or their owners are rare. Running water on site. Fenced. Slow on the weekends.

Nice, clean and low-key park with a playground, b-ball court, tennis courts, dog run and a couple of baseball fields. A nice place to picnic under the trees too.

The quality of this park does not match the neighborhood its in. Northwest district is one of the most expensive in Portland but this park is dirty and outdated.

Nice park. We stopped by for an hour and let our dog run around the fenced dog park. We ate a picnic in a covered area that was clean with good tables.
