Have played all 4 courses, all of them are fantastic! Just know that Bandon Dunes was designed for golf fanatics. The courses are fairly easy (with the exception of trails) when the wind doesnt blow. When it blows, which is most of the time, they are all difficult. It helps to be able to hit the ball low and have a variety of shots in your game. If your looking for perfect weather this is not your place. If you want a golf cart this is not your place. If you love true links golf with lots of roll, quirky bounces and all types of weather this is you place. The staff is fantastic, the scenery is incredible, and the caddies are good. Note that the lodging was made by men and for men. The rooms are very nice, and very comfortable, but understated and practical with very few frills. The food is reasonable and very good. They will accomodate your eating habits and bend over backwards to get you what you want. If you want to bring your wife, I hope she LOVES golf, because that is what Bandon is all about. The ladies tees are well placed to make it enjoyable for the ladies, but when the wind blows it is tough! An incredible place to visit with your golf buddies. All 4 courses are different. Consensus is that Pacific Dunes is the best course. Me? I love all 4 courses, and my favorite changes from day to day.

My family & I were fortunate to spend Mothers Day at the M.D. Brunch at the Dunes this year. Wow! what a special treat. Every Mother should have this experience at least once in a lifetime. We were treated royally from entry to exit. The doorman was pleasant and attentive. We were immediately seated by a fresh, young hostess as soon as we checked in. The setting in the lodge was inspiring, the floral arrangements superb, the overall ambience outstanding. Our head waiter was so accomadating, he actually knew what we wanted before we knew it ourselves. His knowledge of the area, his expertise re: his job, his handling of any and all contacts was impeccable. The food was attractively presented. Everything had a mouth-watering look to it. It was almost enough just to feast your eyes on it. Needless to say, we ran out of room to store all these delectables long before we ran out of desire to keep consuming same. Oh, woe is us. The harp topped it all off. This was, indeed, a Mothers Day dream for this Mother. My family agreed. Kudos many times over to your food service staff. They are exemplary. Sally Abeyta

If you are a golf enthusiast, I would highly recommend visiting Bandon Dunes, it’s unlike any other golf resort. The best way to characterize it is like an adult golf summer camp. A few suggestions that will help: If you plan on arriving into North Bend in the evening, stay at the Mill Casino, a little more action, a far less expensive room, and they will provide free transportation to Bandon Dunes the next morning,. SHIP YOUR CLUBS (if the turbo prop is full of passengers from SFO or PDX, your clubs won’t make it). Don’t rent a car, Use Aviation Transportation to get to or from Bandon (cheaper and provide alcohol). Don’t worry about sharing a room with a buddy, rooms are set up for double occupancy (Lily pond rooms are the most modestly priced and more than adequate) Play Bandon Trails first (it’s a great course that you might not appreciate after you play Pacific or Bandon) Use a caddie the first time you play a course

Golfing here is the best. Some of my favorite courses anywhere, and I have played a lot of places. Very hard to get to, but we knew that going in. Also, the Bandon Dunes service was the best you can ask for. Top notch from start to finish. If you are going with a group of guys, I would recommend 100%. If you are going with couples, I might think twice. If you are both obsessed golfers, you will love it, but be warned, the resort caters to men. The food is very good, but the 3 nicer restaurants they have all are very loud - more like a mens college dorm. The rooms are very spartan and drab, and beds not the most comfortable. Finally, no spa at all. My wife and I were both glad we went, but she is a very serious golfer. While we are glad we went, we would only recommend based to serious golfers.

Restaurants at Bandon Dunes are many and varied. But all get similar review from me -- barely edible considering that one is a captive audience at BD. If not considering that fact, then all get failing grades. The best deal for the money is McKees Pub, but only because it is less expensive and nothing special here. The Gallery is quite expensive comparing it to pretty much anything, anywhere in Oregon. The quality of food at the Gallery is quite bad. Atmosphere is not good. Its quite loud. Service is spotty at best. The thing that stuck out most for me was the terrible quality of the food. At Trails End I had about the worst burger I ever had. It was full of gristle and had little flavor. Beer and mixed drinks are GREAT and so they should be to help forget about thew food and service.

We are just getting ready for our third trip in three years. The first year was 8 guys, Last year we had 16 and this year there will be 20. I would consider this the ultimate guys venue. 4 great courses, very good restaurants and accomodations. Plus you get service that is outstanding. It is great to go 4 or 5 days without ever hearing the word NO when you need or want something. But more importantly the golf is outstanding. If you find a caddy that you enjoy and who really is a professional it makes the experience all that much more enjoyable. Looking forward to Ken on my bag again this year. The Bunker downstairs is an added bonus if you love a good cigar and some gaming. Cant wait to get on the plane next week!

3 buddies and i do this trip every year, and we are going back again in 2 weeks. I was purely so excited about the trip that this review came up and i just had to comment. We all live and work in different states. Above and beyond, this is the greatest establishment i have ever been to. Golf is so great, but as a businessman/lover of the game, golf is about playing good golf with good people. my caddie was garrett and i just loved that guy and hope he is my caddie again in two weeks!!I Walking and talking with your friends is just something you have to experience. I grew up in small town kansas...........started my company in So. Cal............and this and hawaii are two of the top vacations i take every year.
