We fell in love with Little Bear the first time we stepped inside. We had originally wanted to do a downtown reception, but our budget with our taste didn’t allow it. Little Bear was affordable and also beautiful. The only downside was that our guests had to drive from Victorian Village to Lewis Center, but we haven’t heard any complaints. PROS: The owners (Bill & Roxanne) were very helpful from the beginning. They were always quick to respond to our questions and were always willing to meet by appointment whenever we requested. We booked only the Imperial Room, but Bill decided to go ahead and open up the entire room for us which was appreciated. Also, when we were picking our bar package, Bill really worked with us to come up with something that was within our budget. Also, the place was absolutely gorgeous and we were able to choose our own caterer. We also used the downstairs bar for our rehearsal dinner and people loved it (although the bar tab at the end of the night was extremely expensive). CONS: Bill was particular about the placement of food, drinks, etc. There are 2 dance floors, and we had wanted to have the DJ on the same side as the bar in order to avoid having the buffet on the dance floor we were going to be using. Bill was not fond of the idea and we compromised by putting the buffet on the unused dance floor. We’re not positive about this one, but we think that the bartenders were wearing shorts. Neither my husband or I really made it over to the bar, but my husband mentioned after that he’s pretty sure he saw the bartenders in shorts (we had a November wedding). If that was the case, we didn’t care but just in case you would expect professionally dressed staff I thought I would mention. The owners were very particular about getting everyone out immediately after the reception. We were forced to close our bar at 10:30 even though the wedding ended at 11 (it was closer to 10:15 when the bar actually closed). We had even thought about adding an additional hour to the reception time which Bill said would be okay, but that he would not allow the bar to stay open (this was thought about during the planning process, not the night of). After our reception ended we were so rushed on getting everything out of the hall that we left behind a few things and had to deal with going back to get everything the days following the wedding. It may appear that we have more cons than pros, but please know that’s not the case. We were extremely happy with the use of Little Bear and had many compliments on how beautiful the place was. We just want to be as unbiased as possible and lay out all the facts.

Terrible and will never play again. The last hole is amazing and the course layout is actually really nice for a par 3 course but both of these positives are outweighed by everything else that is wrong with the course. For starters the course was in terrible shape. It smelled like raw sewage, found two dead rotting geese, none of the grass was mowed, and i have no idea what is going on with the hole numbers. I have never been to a course where you play all the even holes first then the odds. That being said whats even worse is the fact that the tee boxes and greens are turf. There is no point in even hitting a tee shot on to the green because it just bounces back up in the air and rolls off the greens. I had several shots land within 5 feet of the hole only to watch them bounce 4 feet in the air and then roll like they were on concrete. And if that wasnt bad enough the turf is in terrible shape. There is grass growing through the turf everywhere and the spots for the different hole locations are giant mounds that look like ant hills on the greens. Putting here is worse than playing putt putt. All that being said, this course would be an amazing par 3 course if they got rid of the turf and somewhat manicured the course. I would pay double what they charge and would play it often if they did. I live in the neighborhood connected to the course and never plan to play there again!!

I golfed here by myself on a weekday to work on my short game. The pro shop is actually a community shop that sold other stuff which was kind of weird, but okay, Ill play. I hit the green each shot; however, my shot bounced off of each green and rolled into the surrounding grass that does not get mowed. They really dont have fairways, just long grass that does not get mowed. If you get a shot in the fairway, I would bring your foot wedge. One green I landed on, hoping for a two put from 10 feet but I ended up getting a bogey (+1) on the hole due to the fact I have never practiced putting on concrete. Whoever designed the course layout has the biggest sense of humor. You play the odd holes first, then the even... something to that effect. I would only go back to this course if I had to get someone back for playing a joke on me or if I wanted to completely destroy a business deal.

Ive been taking my kids here since it opened and they have a blast everytime. Its challenging and also great for families. I cant take my young kids to an 18hole course anywhere, we wouldnt even attempt it. I know a lot of other people who enjoy it as well and like to hang out at happy hour every Friday night with their kids. The patio has an outdoor play area for the kids and it keeps them entertained while the adults get to eat/drink and relax. So if your looking for a challenge, or have kids/grandkids, want to work on your short game, I would definitely recommend coming here! Friday nights are 5 holes for $5, its awesome! Anyone who gives it a bad score bc of the greens obviously shouldnt be playing golf! Golf is a game of adaptation, go practice some more!! You lack technique, dont blame the greens!!!!!

We used the banquet facility at Little Bear for my daughters wedding reception and were 100% satified. Our family and friends were really impressed with the site! While not cheap, its still a good value and just as nice as other venues costing alot more. The interior is tastefully decorated, clean, and spacious. The kitchen and service entrances are well laid-out, so our service from the caterers and DJ was seamless and professional. The owner helped us out in quite a bit in deciding what we needed and getting ready for the event. We really appreciated the fact that we could select our own caterer, and werent required to use an in-house staff - allowing my daughter to get the specialty menu she really wanted. The place really glows at night, so I highly recommend an evening reception.

If you are looking to eat and have a drink with some friends... great place! If you are looking to golf, I suggest going to a golf course. Not this place that has excessive undulated turf greens and tee boxes. I dont mean normal undulation either, I mean the holes look like little volcanoes so you barely have a chance to putt it in. Although, thats if you can even make it on the concrete greens... Do yourself a favor. Take the money you would spend going here, grab a match, light it on fire. I guarantee you a better time than playing this "course."
