Intimate theatre setting, plenty of parking, and close to dining venues for before or after a show. Dayton Theatre Guild is a long-standing organization going back over 50 years. The space they occupy is built into a "thrust" type stage, that is, the audience is on three sides of the action. Their shows are varied, but almost always dramatic works, and not musicals, although one or two may pop up. Ticket prices are average for the area, but there is one gotcha: Saturday night performances are not always at the same time! The first Saturday is at 8PM, and subsequent Saturdays are at 5PM. Be aware of this when you purchase a ticket; I have arrived for an 8PM show to find a dark and locked up theatre. Shows run on Friday, Saturday, and matinee Sunday.
