Heres my honest review of the Elm Golf Course which I played for the first time on 4/12/14. Going in with low expectations, I was actually pleasantly surprised. It cost me $21 for 18 holes with a cart (would have been $24 had I been playing along as they split the cart fee) which is incredibly reasonable. The "pro shop" is little more than a counter and a cooler but I didnt expect much more. As for the course itself lets start with the good: the greens and course layout. I was very happy with the putting surfaces, and the small greens proved to be a nice challenge with a lot of tough putts. The course plays at 6200 yards (par 72) if you play the blue tees twice, which means this is a legitimate course, no gimmick holes of any kind. Lots of undulation but no forced carries or blind shots. I really enjoyed #7 which is a 160 yard par 3, down hill to a well guarded green. The fairways were acceptable but overall a little poor. We played winter rules so we moved the ball everywhere to get a decent lie. The two biggest weaknesses in my opinion were the tee boxes (uncut and in poor shape) and the cart paths were really sketchy in places. It didnt help that the course was still wet from rain that weve had lately though. Overall, I will be coming back to the Elm Course. I can get 18 holes finished in 3 hours or less and it has some upside over the university course (better putting surfaces, no wait, a LOT cheaper). If you willing to overlook a few minor flaws, this is a pretty decent place to play.

$10 for 9 holes riding and heres why... look like the property turned it into a golf course with minimal funds but good old boy knowledge and ingenuity. Not for the serious golfer but great to get some sunshine and wack a stupid little ball around. Smuggle in some beers and you could have a good afternoon. The "fairways" were grass just mowed. Some greens were awful (a challenge). Others not bad. Other reviewer Sean was fair. Golf purists stay away.. weekend duffers looking for a couple hours to kill, give it a try. I shot a 59, 3 hazard strokes.

Ive only been here 1 other time (last year) and it was just okay. This year, I made up my mind to never go back. Terrible greens (all of them), cart paths were almost non existent, tee boxes needed a lot of help. I guess for $10 including a cart on a holiday weekend shouldve been a warning.

Pleasently surprised. Well kept and reasonable prices. Greens are the best around.

They couldnt pay me $100 dollars to play this course again.
