Weddings at Lakeshore - Beautiful location and we loved the idea of a separate cocktail hour from reception. They seemed SO accommodating and awesome to work with. Dawn didnt also get back to my emails right away but I assumed she was busy like the rest of the world. We absolutely loved Dawn the coordinator but when the big day came around we were told we would have Tammy at our wedding that night along with the head server to help us throughout the night. ( I believe her name was Jen) We were told NO one in the wedding party would ever have to leave the reception room because we would have drinks served to us all night, WRONG. I was served a few times but had to get my own drinks half the time because I couldnt find a server. The MOB, MOG, Groom and bridal party werent served ANY drinks the entire time and had to go to the bar each time. (If you see how separate the areas are, you will know, this is quite a pain since you want to be with all the guests at the reception the whole time) Tammy was horrible, rude to our guests, actually screamed at our guests, rude to our mothers, didnt set out half of the stuff that was suppose to be set out like take home cookie bags (completely LIED to Dawn about it saying she did and they were all gone, well we purchase 100 and 100 bags were STILL there when we picked them up after the wedding) She cut the enter wedding cake to only have half of it eaten and therefore we didnt get our top tier for our One year anniversary, she didnt light our candles outside and said they werent working - too bad they worked as soon as we picked them up! On top of what we felt was Misleading by having Tammy as our day of coordinator (we were never told this until the week of the wedding) We were completely unhappy with the food. Yes wedding food for 200 people isnt going to be amazing but when we spent 70+ per person we expect it edible. I was told the food was decent and when I went to try it myself on a night they were open, they pulled out all the stop and made it delicious. well the food we had at our wedding was NOTHING like the food we tried a night they were open. They didnt even offer to make options for us to try before the wedding (should of been our first clue) We were also told they would save us hors dourves, didnt get a single one. on a side note, Jen the head server was GREAT, she sweet and accommodating. She was the only one helping any of us (myself & bridal party). I think they should fire Tammy and give Jen her job! Tammy did have to leave half way through our reception to go to another job! Ridiculous and Im surprised Lakeshore would allow someone as unprofessional as her to work there. They should know that thats completely unprofessional and a coordinator shouldnt leave until the last guest does. If they fire Tammy and learn how to cook, they would have a great wedding facility on their hands. I gave it 3 stars because it is a beautiful place, with a nice patio but disliked the coordinator, serving at times and Food.

Heres a story that helps sum it up, aside from all of my terrible golf related experiences here. I saw an ad in the newspaper from Lakeshore Crappy Club saying they were having an end of year clearance on remaining golf clubs. I called and asked if they have any drivers in an x-stiff flex. The young lady that answered replied "I dont know". I asked her if she could please check. She replied "but theyre way over there". I asked her to please check as it will be easier for her to look than me driving there from Fairport after work. She said "sorry, theyre all the way across the room". I was very disappointed, but decided to drive out. So when I walked in, I saw the young lady that is the future of Lakeshore and our country sitting behind the counter looking as enthusiastic as I pictured. I walked over to the drivers and saw there were not any in the flex I was looking for. I then looked over to judge the distance from her perch to the clubs, which was about 15 feet, and reaffirmed my fear of what will happen to our great nation once the generation takes over that is too lazy to talk on the phone, actually spell out full words, or walk 15 feet to save a customer a 25 mile drive.

The course is in better shape compared to 10 years ago (before the change in management.) Tee boxes are much much better and the greens are not bad. The practice putting green is excellent and the driving range is convenient with new range balls. The clubhouse has a great bar and the service has always been very good for me. On the flip side, pricing of a round (as of 8/13) could depend on the day of the week and discounts. I was told last Monday that to walk 18 holes is $29 and to ride a cart is $25? The driving range needs more care...not watered and the water containers (buckets) to wash you clubs off hardly ever get refilled. On Wednesday the range shuts down hours earlier so they can pick up balls...not a good business model you would think. In general, the course is good for the general public, a test for the average golfer and has a decent bar to relax after a round of golf.

My experience at Lake Shore was very disappointing. The course is in very rough shape with sand traps as hard as concrete and greens torn up and pock-marked from an unbelievable number of ball marks. On top of that we played behind a group of 5 that were allowed to go out together as one group. They literally took 10 minutes to putt out on each green and not once offered to have us play through even though there was no group in front of them. When I questioned this at the Proshop I was told it would be taken care of. It was not. I was told that the "cart boy" was asked to go out and ask the group of 5 to allow other groups to play through. He never did. When I again spoke to the person in the Proshop he was rude and dismissive of my concern. I will not be returning and would not recommend the place to anyone.

So the last 2 times I tried to play here I called an hour ahead. Both times I was told to come down, no tee time needed and carts are available. When I showed both times, the moron working in the pro shop said carts werent allowed cause it was too late in the day... it was 1 in the afternoon! When I told the kid, who happened to be rude and about as intelligent as a rock, I just called and spoke to him a hour ago and he said carts are available, and he started screaming, just walk, its not my problem!! If you want to play you can walk!! I just looked at this ugly, inbread, punk with pure astonishment, shook my head and walked out. I have to say, I will never EVER play at this dump again!!! There are plenty of good courses, that cost less and the staff act civilized, not like a bunch of savage animals!!
