Military Park was an oasis in a desert for me when I was homeless staying in the YMCA in Newark. Almost everyday I would take time to go to Military Park and meet my fiance and daughter to share either lunch or dinner or catch a movie. There are also plenty of programs and things going on in Military Park like concerts, yoga, martial arts, and so many others that its too much to name. Military Park brought me great joy and happiness during the hard time of being homeless.

Cool park on Broad St. Well maintained and clean, nice to relax and hang out at. Theres a good view of the Newark skyline from here as well. A new restaurant opened in Military Park called Burg recently if youre feeling hungry. Aside from that, not much going on but this is exactly what you should expect from a park anyway. I usually make a quick stop here whenever Im in Newark just to unwind for a bit.

Great spot to walk your dog, do early AM yoga (yes they have weekly or twice weekly yoga instructors here), movies in the park on summer Tuesdays.. public restrooms, the Burg,. Great place to eat lunch or after work drinks in the beer garden, well maintained and a good amount of security on site...my slice of tranquility right outside my door

This place is good for sitting during the warm days and people watching. You can enjoy the huge Monument they have in the center and also they have a carousel. They also have a burger joint thats open during the Spring and Summer but in general its a nice little Park that you can Jog and go for a walk at

I went to Military Park over the summer with my boyfriend. They have a Tuesday night Beer Garden where they have a live DJ and live music. The atmosphere is amazing. During the summer they have different events and activities all week from workout classes in the park to outdoor movie nights.

I enjoy the Ive spent there since they remodeled it. I do remember the old park and thought the remodel wasnt good back in 2013 or before im not sure however, I think the remodel is great now. Just keep security and security that WILL DO THEIR JOB and NOT be afraid to do it.

The Park has people smoking pot all afternoon and homeless people sleeping on the tables. Then to add to all of this, the Park Manager tells my office that we cant do yoga with 15 of our employees in the park every Wednesday for an hour unless we pay them for the privilege!

Military Park really is a great site! After the June 2014 renovation it is even more beautiful than ever. It is a great place to relax and admire the art. It is clean and safe during the day. A word of caution, please dont hang around here after dark.

Really nice park but certain areas have a strong odor of urine which of course is very unpleasant smell on any given day. It has an awesome merry go round and a beautiful statue. The park needs a little TLC to bring it back to grandeur.

Todays make over and security has made the park accessible to all. You can play, lay out in the sun, read, work on you PCs, horse merry-go-round for young and old. Come and enjoy a beautiful, peaceful, and enjoyable park.

Neat park in the center of Newark City that used to be a military training ground, hence its name. It has a few notable landmarks, such as a sculpture of JFK and an Episcopal church that is more than 200 years old.

The restoration of the park brought new life to the park. It is kept very clean and has many activities for the residents and visitors. It is a nice place to relax after shopping through Market and Broad.

This is a great little park near the performing arts theater and area hotels. The monument in the center of the park is impressive. There is something here for everyone! Also, a burger joint in the park.

This park is really great they have movies on the grass, yoga, Tai Chi and other cool things. You should check out Burg while youre here. They are just stepping up in every way at this park.

Great down town park. Sit and relax, play chess or eat your lunch from many nearby locations and in-park restaurants. It has a beautiful carousel in nicely manicured location.

Its becoming a hot spot for night life in warm weather times. With ongoing construction and commuter traffic it could be a bit busy if youre looking for a quiet spot to chill.

Beautiful park. Theres a place called BURG inside the park that makes great burgers, serves beer and wine and has cute outdoor seating. Impeccably maintained park.

Military Park is great. Lovely place to spend lunch break in the spring or summer. I keep forgetting to buy a ping pong racket so I can dominate the tables here.

This park is clean. Theres no smoking on the premises. Security guards patrol the park constantly. Theres always events taking place at this park as well.
