I have been coming here regularly for about 18 months. The atmosphere is wonderful on the main floor and in the quarter. I have tried most restaurants and the food is very good except for Cuba Libre, I did not like it but I know many people who do. But, I do have some issues. For the prices they charge for a room, especially on the weekend, its ridiculous for what you get. Thank God I get comp rooms. I get comp rooms because I have a platinum membership card. I spend quite a bit of money in the casino. They always send me offers for a "luxury suite" in the luxurious North Tower, however, I always end up in the West Tower with no rug, a living room with very little furniture and a bedroom just as empty, plus, a 15 minute walk through the casino to the pool. When you talk in the room the place echoes! There are stains on everything. The wallpaper in a lot of hallways are peeling or cracked, they actually had peeling beige wallpaper taped down with blue tape! My floor is coming up. The vents are missing slats. The curtains do not fully close. The regular rooms are very small. I have yet to get a room that had everything in it when I arrived. I always have to call for an ashtray, a pillow, towels, something, every time! The shower stall (no tub) is so tiny, if you bend over to wash, your butt is hitting the wall. I keep telling myself that its free and I shouldnt complain but I spend a fortune here between restaurants, snacks, casino and tips. The pool, oh the pool, is very small. During regular swim hours it is filled with children, which is fine, I love kids, but please teach your children some manners. The "lifeguards" need to be more attentive to the horseplay. It is can extremely unpleasant sometimes. Although the food is good in the restaurants, do not expect any quality of service. They are all very young and totally inexperienced and no one seems to care. I have eaten at two places in the marketplace, one time a bought a pepperoni and cheese cup and the pepperoni was gray, the second time I bought a dish of rice, beans and guacamole and vomited an hour later in the 24 essentials store on the casino floor. I felt fine about 2-3 hours later. I have not eaten in the marketplace since. And no, I do not drink. The hallways, oh the hallways, word of advice, if you do not smoke pot, do not walk in the hallways. They ABSOLUTELY REEK OF MARIJUANA!! The second the elevator opens your slammed with the smell. Their children are probably the kids that are running up down the hallway screaming and carrying on, best to let them run wild while you blow a fattie in the room. And trust me, kids do run up and down these hallways, they press the elevator buttons and then let the door close, they steal do not disturb signs, they bump into doors, they yell to each other from opposite ends, its unbelievable. People have those tower speakers in their rooms and they thump their music all night. ITS RIDICULOUS! This is the very last time I am spending a night in this hotel. I would rather pay for a room in a hotel that demands respect from its patrons and quality of service from its employees. I had to add this after reading other reviews. I was thinking where are the people used to staying that give this place 4-5 stars? Have they ever even stayed at another hotel? Then I read a post from a recovering alcoholic, now I get it. There are really good places to stay, just hop in the casino to do your thing then go somewhere else to sleep and shower. If youre human, you deserve better, especially for the price they charge a night. And parents, please do not subject your children to this filth. Remember, they make most of their money from drunks and hardcore gamblers. Thats why the rooms are free for them and not for you.

Absolutely terrible. Where do we start? How about with the series of valet drivers cat calling and offending my sister immediately upon our arrival? Not a good first impression, but I knew we were in NJ and would be surrounded by trash, so we let it go. When we checked in the clerk asked us how many room keys we wanted. We figured two would be enough, one for my girlfriend and I and one for my sister for when we parted ways. The clerk failed to mention that every person in the room is required to have a key card or the security wont let you up the elevator to your room. Really? So after the three of us got back from the beach with only one key (why the hell would we take all 3 keys to the beach together?) security informed us we couldnt go to our room. We explained the situation to the security guard (who barely had a grasp on the English language) and he actually encouraged us to complain, realizing himself that it was a terribly moronic policy for the hotel to have. We went to the front desk to get another key, so that every guest could actually get to the hotel room we were paying for, and they charged us $50 for another key! On a side note, we requested the newly renovated North Tower weeks in advance when we booked the trip. When we checked in, we reminded them of our request and they denied us, saying there was no room and we had to stay in the older, stuck in 1970s era West Tower. Thats all fine and good except we met friends down there who booked there rooms only several days in advance and were given a room in the North Tower. WTF Tropicana? Youre just awful. To add to that, our friends had no security checking for their keys when they went to their rooms... ever. So let me get this straight, Tropicana. Youre going to inconvenience every paying guest that stays in the crappy, desperately-in-need-of-renovation portion of your hotel, but let literally anyone at all enter the the newer, more expensive tower? That was enough for me. For the remainder of the trip we alI refused to give the Tropicana any more money. We specifically left the hotel/casino to buy food, gamble, etc. elsewhere. If only that were the end of the Tropicanas ROBBERY. When we checked out and my sister picked up her Jeep from the valet, we realized they had ransacked her car, stealing over $500 worth of goods (sunglasses, etc.). They literally stole everything out of her vehicle that wasnt bolted down. Of course, the Tropicana refused to rectify the situation, claiming that they were not liable, even though the only person with her car keys was one of their employees. The Tropicana is a complete piece of... I would give it negative stars if I could. Unless they reach out to us and rectify the situation, we will never be back and continue to discourage all of our friends and family from ever setting foot on any of their properties again. Absolutely terrible.

I stayed at the Trop. April 19 thru 21. Lovely hotel. Wonderful customer service. When checking in the young guy was very helpful, even gave a discount because it was my friend birthday with ocean front view. Everything was fine and dandy until the bellman drop my (4) bottles of liquor. Only thing he did was pick it and told me a corny joke ( which was not amusing at all). No apologies of any kind. I was not going to make a big deal until he didnt give me my apology. So I called the hotel told them what happen, they transferred me over to security which recorded my incident. they said it will be out of there hands and I will have to take it up with the claims department. Cool. I have no problem with that. I figured that he drop my liquor I should be repaid for my liquor or comp. a room, something of that nature for the mishap. Security lady told me I should receive a call within a week. Cool beans.. A week passes by no call. So yesterday May 3, I called the claims department inquiring about the incident. I believe her name was Tammy ( im not positive ) but was one of the rudest worker I have met. She told me that I would only receive ($24.00) dollars back. I paid almost close to a hundred for all (4) bottles together. And you telling me only (24.00) dollars. No maam I will and cannot accept that. If she would of said at least (50.00) I probably would be okay with that. She claims that the BELLMAN said that only the wine bottle broke, so im only getting compensated for that. (he only said (1) bottle to cover his behind)Once again no maam, (4) bottles where in that bag.. as I was trying to tell her but she was over talking me the whole conversation. She was not trying to hear my side which was the truth. I was really disturb about the whole situation. I felt like my side was not taken into account. So after she is telling me B.S. I ask to talk to the manager because apparently she cannot do anything for me, so her services was not needed, good day. She told me that the manager would call me back later that. Three hours I receive a call from the manger, who was more helpful then the other lady. But he basically told me the said thing. I told him once again more that (1) bottle was broken. He said he would have to get in contact with that bellman again to get his side. He would call me tomorrow. ... My thing is why. He is saying one thing i, saying another, so its a back and forth situation. JUST GIVE ME MY MONEY.! Today is May 4. Havent receive my callback yet. Im mad now, because Ive been getting the run around with no solid facts on there behalf. I just want my money. Because of this incident im never staying there again
