For some reason I was expecting this to be a cross-breed of a ferris wheel and a roller coaster and its pretty much neither. Its simply an observation pod that goes in ONE circle. Cons- -You dont really get to choose the people you ride with. You are loaded on with about 15 ppl per pod. -Not enough seating, its two little sitting areas on each side of the pod and it fits about 4 people on each side. I am sure you dont want to sit the entire time but if you do its best to gets a seat facing the loading zone. Everything behind the High Roller is vacant all the lights are in the direction facing where you are loaded on. -Photographs will suck! Unless youre taking pics of the scenery with no flash, the reflective glass wont allow you to capture cute photos. I tried a couple of selfies but its really dark in there and turning on the flash will just light up the whole pod and you still get the window glares in your picture. Pros- -You can drink while you are on the pod. Drinks can be purchased on your way up towards the loading area. -The pods are air conditioned. I am sure during the day it could get unbearably hot so luckily enough its pretty chilly in the pods. One cool feature is if you pay an extra $10 ($44.95 for night time) then you can get the Happy Hour ride where you and your friends get open bar the entire 30 mins of the trip. This seems like the only option one should choose seeing as most of the time you are just idly waiting for the pod to hit the highest point. I think that could be fun with a bunch of friends but it is a bit pricey for just 10 mins of drinks. I did like the photo option but it comes out the blue right before the loading area so be on the lookout.

This was my second visit in a year. I brought old friends and new because I could not say enough good things about this attraction from my first visit. Well, the mighty have fallen. On this visit the experience was completely different. Our choice both times was to pay for the enhanced ride which includes an open bar. The bartender last year was bubbly and friendly and asked us questions. She told us little things about Las Vegas. She surprised everyone with a drink of her design that was the size of a shot glass and instructed us all to note the moment we reached the top of the wheel. Then we toasted the moment. It was a wonderful surprise. Now, there were many issues with the bartender this year. His personality was flat. Not someone you would describe as friendly and when asked about the toast for the top of the wheel informed us that he was not allowed to do anything like that. And they never had. His manner led people from another group on the ride to ask to see a manager at the end so we joined in. Here is where things got interesting. It appears that the ride keeps uniformed security on call. We were greeted by a woman who was escorted by a total of 4 uniformed security. We were dismissed and offered no apologies or partial refund or any other consideration. I will not returning or recommending anyone to visit.

Most Beautiful View of Vegas at Night. I prefer the night ride because you can see The Strip all lit up but either way still a very cool new attraction in Vegas. Each pod has room for about 30 people so you can even have a 30 minute party in there. You cant take your own drinks on but you can buy one at the bottom and bring it with you. Or NOW they actually have bar cars for a little extra charge you can get in one of those cars and it has its very own bar and bartender. I highly recommend that. Take note there are no bathrooms aboard the pods, so get that out of the way before you board! When youre up going around you can hardly feel youre moving at all so it is very steady and good even for people with motion sickness --you dont feel movement at all. And for those with fear of heights that dont want to be right up on the window, theres bench seating inside the pod you you can actually sit down, away from a window and still get a great ride and view. Daytime tickets are cheaper than nighttime but I strongly recommend a night ride and/or a night ride with bar! There are some good deals on Groupon and Living Social, so check there for discounts before purchasing at full price. Bring your camera! Great photo opps!

"You never count your money, while youre sittin at the table. Therell be time enough for countin, when the dealings done." - "The Gambler", Kenny Rogers Do you think youre a high roller? Well, do ya, punk? High Roller, the worlds largest observation wheel, is located at the rear of the LINQ, between the Quad & Jimmy Buffetts Margaritaville. Air-conditoned pods slowly move from beginning to end in 30 mins Loading/unloading is on the move, with safety nets underneath to deter any unfortunate accidents. Im glad we werent packed like sardines. TVs keep passengers abreast of how many feet high they are with some funky music to keep the party atmosphere going. The ride was pretty smooth, with a little rocking near the top. After about 10-15 mins, I was done & ready to go already. Celebrity sighting! Levar Burton, of Roots/Reading Rainbow/Star Trek:The Next Generation fame, shooting a new episode of Reading Rainbow Im glad I had the chance to ride the High Roller, but at $21.95 during the day & $36.95 at night, I find it to be too pricey for just a souped up ferris wheel. I recommend the High Roller as something to take a pic of from a distance, with or w/o selfie.

Very poor customer service right from the beginning. First off we called and bought 4 tickets from the box office, 2 open bar and 2 non open bar as gifts for my parents that are elderly and do not drink. When we arrived at the High roller with our printed out tickets the girl working the front desk didnt greet us and was very rude saying that we couldnt ride together unless we purchased the open bar tickets for everyone in our party at a price of $47 dollars each and asked us " Why would you think people not drinking would be allowed on the drinking car?" Well because at no time during the whole buying process was this explained to us and why should non drinking patrons be forced to pay the open bar price just to be able to ride with there Family! To make a long story short everyone that was working there was either Rude or just ignores you while playing on there cell phone. So dont waste your money, you are better off going up to the top of the Stratosphere, it has a better view and lasts as long as you want. Restrooms very dirty, throw up smell in high roller cabins!
