The Great Wolf Lodge is a good place to stay for fun. Its not great its good. I stayed at the one in Traverse City, MI. The place is nice and clean but there were a few issues. Ill go over both the pros and cons. Pros: This place is a lot of fun for kids. They have a lot to do for children with the arcade, Magic Quest, and the water park. For adults the water park is not bad. The slides are not childish and will make any adult have fun. The food at the restaurant was good. We had the breakfast buffet and it was one of the better ones Ive eaten at. The room was very clean and orderly. It had a mini fridge which made it really nice to keep drinks and food in the room. They have ways to go green for the people who like to conserve. For example they have a recycling bin in the room along with a garbage can, the wall mounted air unit will automatically shut down if you leave the sliding door to your balcony open saving electricity, and they also ask you to participate (Not required) in a reuse your towel program where if you keep your towel hung up they wont take it but if you throw it on the floor they will replace your towels. I thought that was pretty cool. I reuse my towel at home why not here! Cons: The hotel is not very well insulated for noise. I could hear all the footsteps of the child running around in the room above us at 6am or earlier. Not fun when your trying to sleep. You can hear people in the hallway talking as if their in your room standing over your bed. Im a light sleeper and the slightest noises wake me up so i might be a little biased but these were not slight noises. The biggest complaints i have about the hotel are as following. First of all the pillows are the worst pillows ive ever slept on. They feel like a sack someone filled with cotton balls and called a pillow. There were 8 pillows in all in the room and every last one of them was the same. THEY SUCKED! The other thing that i found very awkward was that they have all these things for children to do yet they do hardly anything for the adults. The water park is really fun and the outdoor pool although small served its purpose. The complaint i have is why does the water park shut down at 9pm? why is the water park not left open for adults only after 9pm. If not the entire water park why not at least the outdoor pool. We would return to the hotel after a day of being out and come back to nothing to do when we really wanted to swim but we couldnt. I think the hotel should be more aware of its lack of adult entertainment. All in all this hotel was average to me. The water park was a blast when it was open. The rooms were very clean and easy to settle in besides the early morning noise and pillows. The fun level for children is a 10 while for adults its a 6 during the day and a 0 at night. I would recommend this place for the water park and for children. So the next time i stay here it will be with my kids.

First off, I am review this as someone with 2 small kids and 1 older child. First off after we checked in the lobby was so full my wife and I got seperated until we hit the back of th elobby where the two slowest and possibly smallest elevators are located. We had a stroller with us and it was a nightmare. Finally after waiting a few turns of the elevator doors opening and seeing it packed to the brim, we got to our room. The room wasnt so bad pretty nice, bathroom was a little small, but acceptable. The staff was outragously rude, more than one occasion they would help someone in line who was behind us. One of the waitresses came up to ourtable and just stood there silent, maybe she was used to mind readers. I had to ask her if she needed help, thats where I discovered she wanted our drink order. Breakfast buffet was horrible, small and cramped like most of the hotel, the line is so slow that your food is cold by the time you get to your seat. So many kids in the halls because of an interactive game that is played throughout the hotel, which isnt that bad unless you have a stroller and a small child walking with you. Most of the adults let their children run wild while they are off drinking. Water park is impressive, water staff is actually competant. I say if you have more than one small child with you and you are easily annoyed stay away at all costs. I am sure this trip would have been fun if I only had one kid, but I dont. My advice is if you live in Michigan save yourself some money and stress without all the crowd and go to Zehnders splash village. Its not nearly as crowded but the water park is only about half the size. Left more stressed out than when I got there and I had just come off my first week at a highly demanding new job. Theres much more I am leaving out, but if I can sway someone from a bad vacation all this typing will be worth it. Just so blessed I didnt have to pay full price, I would have been real mad.

We took a 5 hour trip to visit Traverse City this past weekend 8-19-168-21-16 just to end our summer off. We got there late so we picked to visit the shops and play games before the next day when we wanted to spend all day at the water park with our two kids 9&7. All was perfect the from time we got there every one at the desk welcomed us with smiles and wolf ears and paw pass we had gotten all the way till we went to sleep around 11-12. when out of no where we were awake around 1am to my 7 year old had slept walked off the bunk beds and busted his head bad and leaving him knocked out pouring blood. I called the front desk right away with the fast fast response of Anthony and Eric helping my husband with my son they took awesome care of my boy. they seen i was out of my mind as a mother so when they took over till ems got there if i had kept looking at the blood i would have lost it more after seeing what i was. Long story short after all night and 70-75% of Saturday in the hospital my son was able to walk out with few staples and unable to play in the water but let me tell you what we as parents were not gonna let that take away from the rest of the kids trip what ever they asked to do we did. But when we got back to the lodge the staff had stuff instore for us that had me in tears again and smiles on the kids faces.they went above and beyond for our family and they didnt have to at all but they made us feel so welcomed and many many other things. They are some truly amazing people they are. As well as the next morning Matt the morning then also took amazing care of the kids with more things to make there trip a lot better. He was truly amazing which again had me crying. I would not pick anywhere else for a family trip . thanks again from the bottom of our hearts room 217 ...
